Wavier Granted... still on waitlist.

I was granted a wavier on my DoDMerb portal, does this mean anything especially since I am on the wait list?

It means you're still in it and being on the wait list is better than nothing. Typically, few people come off the wait list, but the last two years have been so far from "typical" that it's anyone's guess.

Keep working on Plan B.

No LOA. It was just strange though because DoDMerb has updated, but not the USNA portal.

It means what @THParent said. You are on the WL, with your waiver granted.

I could be wrong, but I thought they only approved waivers when they were gearing up to offer an appointment.

If you are on the waitlist, they want to ensure you are actually fully cleared and viable. One would think that if your waiver wasn't approved, they would just drop you and give you a TWE. With the waiver good to go, should a spot open that you would be in line for, an offer would be able to be made.

I concur with @Navy301 my understanding is they only pursue a waiver when they have decided to offer your appt.

While it’s a positive indication, it is not a foregone conclusion. Every year there are people that are granted a waiver that do not receive an appointment.
