Weird Nomination Question

+1 on your DS’s response on the cheating question. My DS also drew the comparison between the USNA mission statement and the Scout Oath in his MOC essays. Congrats to you & your DS!

Congrats to you as well...for raising a great person. I remember this time of year very well. Its exhilarating and exciting.

Thanks. My DS is no different than most of the other kids represented on this forum. When people tell you how impressed they are with your DS or DD...how polite they are, how mature they are, how respectful they are, how great of a student they are...etc. As parents we go "wait, who are you talking about? certainly not my kid." But the reality is that we all raise our kids to be great adults and great leaders. It may not always seem like it when they are asking us for money, asking us to do their laundry, complaining about having to get up early on Sunday to go to Church, etc. But they are all great kids.

Given the tone of society these days all of that says a lot.
Packerfan12 First, congrats to your son for pursuing his dream. Now take a deep breath and count to 10. It is just beginning! Enjoy the ride! Agree on the great kids part we could use more in todays world. GO NAVY!

Quite an achievement, but remember that every year there are about 3,000 tripled-qualified applicants with nominations in hand, who are still competing for only (approx.) 1,150 spots in the new class.

Cautious optimism is called for, here. Keep him working on that Plan B and Plan C.
Nothing but waiting from here on out. Good luck! The waiting is hard.[/

Still learning here. My daughter recieved an LOA still waiting on MOC. If she gets the MOC and clears DODMERB is she in or are there other factors?

The Letter of Assurance (LOA) is a Conditional Offer of Appointment.

If the condition(s) that are stated in the LOA are met, she will receive a Fully-Qualified Offer 0f Appointment.
There are no other factors.

So if the LOA states that she needs to get a nomination and complete her application (including clearing DoDMERB) and she does that,
she will be standing there in T-Court on June 27, 2019 (I-Day) in her whiteworks, taking the Oath of Office.
