West Point Reading

PLEASE tell me you are joking, and that you're not just now realizing this? This can't be a serious post.

Lying/cheating/stealing/tolerating = one-way ticket home

I'm just going to go out on a limb and guess what his vague post meant was that you would not get more push ups for lying as the joke he quoted entailed, but instead be separated....just a guess giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Ah, you're probably right! I didn't make that connection between the two posts. Mea culpa!

I failed to communicate the notion that, lying is a serious matter leading to separation and shouldn't be joked around with.

I'm about 90 pages into In Search of Ethics. If you're going to read it, make sure you don't get lost in the middle. It's pretty good as long as you stay on track and don't forget where you were when you come back to it. Interesting, definitely insightful, but not something I would read on my own. In any case, it is my intention to finish it before R-day.

Also, it seems that there are several portions of the book that deal specifically with West Point, such as the section on Commitment (last chapter, I believe?) and one of the endless editors notes/prefaces/edition notes/etc at the beginning of the book.

it really is an amazing book. I got a signed copy at SLS last year. Even though I will not be attending USMA this year, I find the book to be an extremely beneficial source of wisdom.
