What are my chances?

Hello, I was wondering what my chances were of getting an appointment to the United States Military Academy. I am planning to attend Marion Military Institute and it's SAP program. I was told by my step-sister, who graduated from the West Point 2013 class, that it would be a good idea. She herself went to NMMI but I decided on MMI since I already live in Marion and also work at MMI and I have seen the campus and like what I see. Due to extenuating circumstances at home, I had to withdraw from high school a week into my senior year, although up to that point I had a little over a 3.5 GPA and placed 23 out of 260 in my class by the end of Junior year. I took my GOD recently and I scored high enough that I received college credit. I scheduled to take my ACT already. My goal is a perfect score. My question is will MMI and it's SAP program help me with the admissions process to USMA to where I can receive an appointment? Or will my GED, despite my high score, prevent me from being competitive with other applicants?

The only garuantee is if you don't apply, you won't get in.

Realistically, a big portion is going to rest on your test scores because you lack a HS rank. You have to ask yourself, how realistic is a perfect score?

The SAP at MMI really will have minimal influence on getting you in (and no more than successful completion at any college, but probably at a higher cost).
