So I am currently a Junior in high school and my goal is to go to West Point. I was wondering what I could do to improve my chances of getting accepted.

Currently:

• 4.0 GPA (unweighted) 4.7 GPA (weighted)
• 1950 on the SAT (haven't taken the ACT, just re-took the SAT yesterday)
• Varsity letter (Baseball)
• Member of NHS
• Member of NSHSS
• 250+ community service hours (not sure if that really matters)
• JROTC staff member for my high school (also was awarded "Superior Cadet" for my LET level last year)
• 6:30 mile, 40 pushups (1 min), 50 sit-ups (1 min)

I also take numerous AP & honors courses

Plan on:

• Running for student government
• Joining JV wrestling
• Joining Varsity Track
• Attending Boy's State
• Improving PT scores

I'm sure there are some things that I forgot... Regardless, any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :)

In my opinion, I feel you're off to a great start. WP looks for three pillars: Academics, Leadership and Athletics. Continue to strive for the highest ACT/SAT test scores possible. Continue with Math and Chem with a Lap all four years in high school. Continue to be in the top 10 percent of your high school ranking. This will help solidify your appointment. I don't know how competitive your nomination sources will be, that is the big unknown.
