What can I do to strengthen my application?

Hello, I am a current high school junior looking to attend USNA in the class of 2030. I am looking for advice on what I can do to improve my application, as with the NASS application opening I have felt very unprepared.

Academically I have taken the highest level of courses my school offers, all honors and AP classes. I had finished all of them with some kind of A, except last spring when I missed school and hit a rough stretch, finishing with 3 B+(US history, Chinese 4, and Pre-Calc). This year I have improved significantly, however, my BC calculus grade may also finish as a high B. Next year I plan to take AP Chinese and either Multivariable Calc(At a nearby state or private university/college), or AP Statistics. I participate in the Massachusetts Innovation Career Pathways, and through this have attended STEM conferences/events and am on track to secure an internship at a local manufacturing/design company. I took the SAT in October and scored 1490, without taking the PSAT. I am taking it in March, studying this time, aiming for mid 1500s. I have participated in three Varsity sports, starting all of them in highschool, and am a two-year football team captain.

While I feel more confident about the above, my extracurriculars feel very lacking right now. I am president of an Asian American association at my school, work on a tobacco farm in the summer, and tutor math. I am planning to add Club Rowing, lifeguarding(heard from a midshipman this was good), Boys State, the above-mentioned internship, as well as more extracurricular Chinese. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated, as seeing other's applications here has me feeling a bit lacking and I would love to improve!

I don't know how relevant or helpful this is, but I am a first-generation Asian American, and the last time any of my relatives served was world war two.

Thank you for your time!

Your résumé (and planned additions to it) read quite well. Keep up the good work! I recommend to my students to seek more team engagement and leadership roles. Lifeguarding is a good example and so is math tutoring. Start preparing now for the CFA. I advise my students to run an average of 10 miles per week and 3 miles per run. I'm sure some others on the SAF will provide additional advice. Good luck with your preparations!

I'm in the same boat of my extracurriculars feeling a bit lacking, although I'd say that yours are really solid! You've got leadership in multiple areas, and the internship is a great way to show initiative and STEM activity through more than just classes. Good luck on the NASS application, I definitely also felt a bit insecure listing out all of my activities.
