What class is more important?

Next year I only have room for one elective and my senior room I won’t have room at all. I can either do NJROTC, AP computer science, or a third year of Chinese. I’m not completely sure what I should choose?

First class, of course!

Okay, seriously now. Service Academies typically like to see a course load heavy in AP classes.
That doesn't mean that you should take AP PoliSci, though.

Do you like Chinese? If you had two years of it, you can't possibly dislike it.
You will spend the rest of your life doing things in your career path that aren't necessarily fun or rewarding.
If you like learning Chinese, take a 3rd year.

Are you thinking of taking NJROTC because you think that USAFA is going to look favorably upon it, or does the program appeal to you on it's own merits?

Again, do what you enjoy. It's an elective - in your senior year. In the overall cosmos, it matters not!

On a selfish note this coming [Jr.] year will still influence your admissions GPA - consider likelihood of A vs B is the various elective options.

I don't see a big difference in Language III vs AP CompSci as to how it looks on your transcript - both are challenging course levels.
[I am assuming you have heavy AP STEM and English / Lit courseload already.] One elective won't tip the scales.

I'd say Chinese or an AP elective, whichever interests you more. Foreign languages and AP classes are both desired by top schools.

The AP class could help you improve class rank if you get an A, although Chinese might separate you from other candidates.

Depends on your interests. If you plan to do math/physics/engineering, I’d say AP comp sci is a better choice as a solid knowledge of computer programming basics is critical and takes time to develop. If you are thinking foreign area studies or something similar, Chinese would be better, but only if you like it.
