What did they ask for?

Can they use Yard Card at the Navy Exchange?

I don't believe so:

Did you DD/DS sign up for Direct Deposit with Navy Federal Credit Union which has a branch next to Bancroft/MidStore? Your Mids can apply for a real credit card with special deals only available for Mids, and it is a great way to start building their credit history. IMHO, turn in the Check Card at the same time they apply for their credit card as it is better protection with Credit Cards vice Check Cards. How do they withdraw money from their checking account then, you ask? NFCU can issue ATM cards that are connected to their accounts as well.

Disclaimer: I do not work for NFCU, just a grateful member since I opened an account while on my first deployment in 1996 - first thing I did while on Liberty off my ship in Yokosuka Japan. Back then you can't even open an account unless you are overseas.

Last phone call before we parents head to Annapolis for parent weekend. My Mid continued to be upbeat. He gave us a very mixed list of items he wants us to bring.
1. Jellybeans
2. His guitar
3. His mini cactus plant that he has had in his room at home for a long time. Apparently they get to have one potted plant. How I'm getting that from Texas to Annapolis I am not sure yet.
4. His headphones
5. A new C.D. he ordered right before he left so he can listen to it in the hotel room

So current and past parents, what did your Mid ask for?

My DD says she wants a P8!!------BWHA-HA-HA-ha!!

At least I was able to offer that its: a Boeing System, Doesn't Land on a Carrier, and is unlikely to be "meaningfully shot at", short of war with China/Russia/Etc..

Still, I drew a quick "this was your idea!!; I can't say NO to her, but you are gonna pay for this!!" look from her Mom. Its interesting to me to my DD's idea of what she wants to do in the USN has shifted so much over PS.

We already have a list of want's /needs in her letters. On this last call we learned that she is kinda "Jones-ing" for ART. She requested some paintings she has of the Cascade Mountains, and "just anything that is a human expression of reality---not photographs"

On the 24th she was excited about the start of the acedemic year. On this call she was a little sad that she'd tested out of classes that she likes---English, History, Physics.
She was kinda "Meh" about her classes, "Calc and Chem will be mostly review--a good thing, but not exciting. Upside for me is she still has USN History. I've been around that block some and look forward to talking some stuff through with her.

Cheesy Old military movies, his favorite coffee cups, and a LONG list of homemade meals, a large sleeping couch, a big screen TV and access to his Spotify account.
Glad we rented a house!!
