What does a waiver mean?

I’d just received a medical waiver this morning for exceeding USAFA’s body fat standards. On the last line, the notification said “You have our best wishes for success as you prepare to join the Class of 2023.” Is this a good sign? Does this mean I can expect an appointment soon?

If anyone’s ever been in a similar situation or have received a medical waiver for any issues, please feel free to share! Thank you.

A medical waiver usually means the academy believes you have high potential to become a cadet. Because the academy’s only have a limited number of waivers to give, This is a very good sign. however, it doesn’t mean an appointment for sure. I got two waivers for USAFA and Usna but so far I have only got the good news from one. So take this as a positive, but nothing concrete.
