What is the space force rotc program

Literally any details would be helpful
This is all so new, just exercise your google search skills.

Just as the Space Force was “spawned” from AF roots, I suspect AFROTC units have expanded to offer Space Force education and training. Navy NROTC offers Navy Option and Marine Option at one unit, with some common and some shared education and training.

See this example:

Read and research everything you can find, develop some thoughtful questions, then be bold and contact or visit an AFROTC unit to ask them.

It's extremely obtuse, but AFROTC/USAFA is the path towards a Space Force commission. First, get into AFROTC. Then, make it through all the normal hoops. In your Junior year, you'll be notified of the process necessary to compete for a USSF commission. Then if you get selected, when you graduate and commission you'll be in the Space Force.
I'm giving no details about the actual application because it's been different every year for the 3 years it's been an option. So they could very well massively shift it by the time you're up for commissioning, but considering USSF and USAF are both under the Department of the Air Force, AFROTC will remain the sole vector into the Space Force.

Also, as it stands, it's more of a job selection at the end of your training than a separate track. I sincerely doubt they'll ever change that.

USSF apparently has a direct path ROTC program and associated with 10 colleges. Our DS was emailed from them about applying (already did AFROTC application). After consulting with the local ROTC officer, they said you would be commissioning as SF and on a specific path. You can still go SF through AFROTC though through other colleges. This link has some info links within it regarding specific colleges and general info https://afrotc.virginia.edu/space-force
Hope it helps.

And what about USMMA? Can you commission to Space Force after graduating?

My son got a letter saying he was qualified for a Space Force ROTC and had to submit answers to 3 essay questions to be considered. He did, so I assume now he is up scholarships to both AF & Space Force .

If you don't mind telling me which school. My high school sophomore is definitely interested in USSF. I have received the "new" USSF detachment list and if the school has just an AFROTC Det, the cadet can request and compete for USSF Junior year.

Massachusetts Institute Of Technology
North Carolina A&T State University
Purdue University
University Of Colorado-Boulder
University Of North Dakota - Grand Forks "Crosstown"

It didn’t say in the letter, it just said he was selected and a candidate for the Space Force ROTC scholarship. From what I read they selected a group of students who applied for the AFROTC one to be able to be considered for SF ROTC scholarship too. I will tell you he did get into Purdue and applied to USC, but they haven’t released acceptance yet.

My son is in the same situation. I believe he said he will know about SF around March 2.

Surprised nothing in Florida or California for schools! With Kennedy and Vandenberg as two of the biggest launch sites for rockets, you'd think more "local" schools would be all over it.

Yes. USMMA features graduating mids on their alumni FB page and recently showcased one headed for Space Force.
