Well, my top choice of service academy is USMA. However, I received a nomination for USMMA. Is there anything that I could possibly do at this point? I am qualified for USMA. I did not think for a second that when receiving a nomination it could destroy my chances with my main choice. Thanks for any help.

Did you request a nomination to both, or just USMA? You never know, maybe your congressman's office made a typo...

Also, you may been the top candidate in the district for USMMA, but not for USMA.

I received a nomination from Senator Frist in TN for USNA. I didn't think anything was happening, so I called Frist's office and asked for a nomination to USMMA too. They said sure, and added it on.

Well a couple of weeks later I also received a nomination from Rep. Clement's office to USMMA (and maybe USNA, although now, 12 years later I can't remember). I had interviewed with both offices but assumed that because I hadn't heard anything from the Congressman's office, I wasn't going to get a nomination.

If you want it, don't be afraid to ask for it. Or, if you are more patient than I was, it could also just happen and it's just stuck in paperwork.

Now, looking back, not sure if it was right for me to call, but then, in the end, you are advocating for yourself before you're part of "the team."
