I'm not sure if not hearing anything from WP now that it is the beginning of April is a good thing. I know some have already received TWEs, but when do the bulk of these come out? I was pretty confident in my ability to secure an appointment earlier in the application process, however now I'm starting to doubt myself with all this waiting.

It's all up to mathematics. As more candidates get eliminated, more TWE's go out. If you have made it this far, that's a good sign! Good luck!

For all intensive purposes no news is good news, we are coming towards the end of when the bulk of appointments come out but there are people who get appointments all through till R day.

The deadline for those already offered appointments is May 1. As those decisions continue to come in, admissions will evaluate whether additional offers need to be made.

A key point is how a USMA class is structured versus a civilian college. A civilian college can choose any applicant, from anywhere to fill the class. USMA can not choose a candidate from NY to fill the declined offer from a MOC slate winner in CA - this is simplified to illustrate the differences. Actually they do have some latitude, but much less than a civilian college.

There is hope!

After a short (not really) 4 months I finally became 3Q this week. This is the first correspondence I have received in a while. I was getting worried that admissions may have lost my file or another technical error occurred.

I think it's not over yet. May 1 is the deadline for accepting an appointment. My son is at a civil prep school where the students are encouraged to apply to all academies and some students have an offer of appointment for West Point but are waiting to finalize their appointment to either Navy or Airforce before they decline WP.

If they knew they did not want you in the class, yo would have a TWE already. Hang in there a couple more weeks. Make your other excellent plan but do not give up on USMA. You will know by 1 May.
