On the academy webpage it says the last day they will take scores in on February the 15th. Does that mean the scores need to be postmarked by February 15th or the test needs to be taken before February 15th, and can be sent later than that?

SAT Results

The last day to take the SAT for this year's admissions cycle was December 3rd. USAFA wants the results by 2/15 and the results from the January 28th test won't be released until 2/16 at the earliest.

Good luck! :thumb:

Are you sure about this? As a FF scholar, part of our contract is that we are required to take every ACT and SAT from Semptember until February.... why would they make us take tests that don't even aid our bid for admission?

The last day to update your file is 2/15/12. The SAT scores are not released until 2/16/12 at the earliest. You could talk to your advisor to make sure this is the case.

you can take the 1/28 SAT and your scores will be updated with admissions

DS, who is also a FF Scholar, spoke with General Kelly who advised him that his ACT superscore of 33 was high enough that he did not need to take the January SAT or February ACT. But your question is legitimate. If you are in doubt USAFA2016, call General Kelly whose title is President of the AOG I believe. Gen Kelly was very helpful when DS contacted him. PM me if you need his number.

To answer your question, I can only assume that the January and February scores will be helpful for Falcons. I am not sure about other non-Falcon candidates.

Thanks. I may give him a call. And do you know how to superscore an ACT? My highest composite is a 30, but I feel superscored I could be looking at a 32 or higher...

To calculate your superscore on the ACT:
  1. Take the highest score on each section (E, M, R, CR) no matter when you took the exam.
  2. Then find the average (sum the four section scores and divide by 4.)
  3. Round to the nearest integer, i.e. 28.5 rounds to 29, 30.25 rounds down to 30.
I hope your superscore is higher. General Kelly will probably also want to know what each section score is as a low score on any section may be a problem even if you composite and/or superscore is high.

Dang it! My superscore comes to 31.25. My lowest score is in math at 28. Our contract says if we score 30 in each section we are exempt, so I'm not quite there. Oh well, I have to take one more SAT and one more ACT, then done!

What is two more exams? After lots of hard work you are soo close to an appointment in the 2016 class. Just do the exams and excel this semester!
