I just submitted my PFA today, which was the last element of my AFROTC application. Does anyone know how soon I should expect an interview? Thanks!

Refresh in the process on page 11 at your primary source below.

You should be prepared and ready to go anytime. There is a lot of advice available online when you search “AFROTC interview preparation,” but always consider the source.

I recommend to my students to find the closest AFROTC unit and reach out to them to arrange the interview. If your application is complete, then they are typically quite receptive. Since the first board is in October, you will want to arrange it as soon as you can. Good luck!

I live in a densely-populated urban environment, so there are dozens of detachments near me. In your opinion, is it better to reach out to a smaller or larger detachment?

My son got an email from AFROTC that told him when he was eligible to schedule the interview after his app was submitted. He was then assigned to a specific detachment to complete the interview.

No bad alternative in my opinion. A larger unit may have more 'resources' to support the interview, but I'm sure any of the units will serve you well.

For me I was emailed by my local AFROTC detachment to schedule a virtual interview like a day or two after finishing everything

Perhaps a difference between AFROTC and NROTC, but for NROTC you are assigned to a local recruiting command and they arrange that interview. DD just completed hers Saturday. That person is also administering fitness, though that is likely unique because she selected Marine Corps option and Marines have a special PFT.

According to an email I got from the AFROTC application office, I'm assigned to the detachment nearest to me.

Perfect. But I have had students call different ones and set-up the interviews. Typically, they call the 'closest' one. Have a great interview!

Absolutely true

I had my NROTC interview at NTAG Empire State a few weeks ago and that’s how they are scheduled. I also believe for NROTC you can interview at local unit but for NY they like to do it at the actual NTAG command.
