When should reapplicants (or college first-timers) submit the preliminary application to USNA?

I'm a senior in high school who just recently found my calling to USNA. I plan on joining NROTC next fall and then applying to USNA for the first time as a college freshman. I'm eager to submit the preliminary application immediately when it comes out April 1st while I still have access to my high school counselor and can readily access test scores/official transcripts. However, I know one of the questions on the prelim app is 'current education level.' If I submit the prelim app in April, I'll technically still be a high school senior, but I'll be applying for c/o 2024 as a college freshman. Is there a way to clarify this on the prelim app or should I wait until I officially enroll at the civilian college I'll be going to in the fall and risk the hassle of contacting my high school counselor as a college freshman?

Provide your current education level (high school senior) for the preliminary application. You will have the opportunity to update your status when you become a candidate and complete the formal USNA application.
