Happy Sunday SAF family! As you know (or should if you're submitting an AROTC application), tomorrow, Jan. 15, is the deadline for document submission prior to the January selection board. My DS is 'board ready' and feeling fairly optimistic given what we believe is a pretty strong application and some very positive feedback from the interview.

Just wanted to give a shout out to everyone else who may be working to complete an application by the deadline. We were fortunate to get DS's December ACT scores back last week and able to submit the improved result in time.

If anyone has any questions about anything as they are wrapping things up, this is a great place to ask. There are lots of helpful people here with intimate knowledge of the AROTC application process.

Maybe sometime next week we can get the 'official' January board post going as we all clench our fists and prepare for the intense couple weeks of waiting until board results are released. BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE!

My son is board-ready. Feel free to change the title of this thread and use it as the"official" one. Good luck to everyone! We are cautiously optimistic over here.

DS completed his final requirement, the PMS Interview, on Thursday. He was told it should be in the portal by today, but now his portal cannot be accessed. It says to inquire with your administrator about obtaining a new password. I imagine no one is working the holiday today, so DS will just have to wait until he gets a response on the password matter. Hoping that gets resolved soon so he can check his status to see if he is marked Board Ready.

Try using the "forgot password" option and reset it. The AROTC portal requires you to reset the password every 45 days and doing forgot password is the only way we have found to do it.

Can you still upload documents today since it is the 15th - do we have until "midnight" of the 15th to get any new documents in?

Thank you. After several attempts, it worked. Still marked as "Interviewee" status, unfortunately?

This Friday is actually the interview deadline. So as long as the rest of your application is done the interview can get posted later this week and you'll be OK.
Ah, thank you! Wasn't aware of that. Yes, the rest of the application is complete.

Best of luck to everyone for the 2nd board. Please remember there is still a lot handed out on the 3rd. Once you have done all you can do. Please don't check the portal and then refresh 20 times. You will find out I promise. It just creates a lot of unneeded anxiety.

Personal story. DS I think had all but given up. It was getting late in the afternoon and others had already found out. He was out watching his sister play golf when he got an email from his number 1 school's ROO.

Anyways best of luck!

My son is in under consideration. He was boarded on Oct board but was not selected at that time so has been remaining for 2nd board.
THAT would be a long wait. Although I understand there are many who don't get offers in October who do in the later boards. Good luck to your DS!

My DS is ready. Fingers crossed.

Wondering if anyone knows what the timeline is from app closing to scholarship announcement?

ROTC portal "additional information" section says 2-4 weeks after board meets. However, based on what I've seen on the forum, I believe it's typically about 10 days to two weeks after the board concludes. Next week, I'll start an 'official' post for the second board where we can all wait together and then share results once they are released.

PMS at DD’s top choice civilian school said he wouldn’t be surprised if she’s notified by end of Jan.
