Who Should I Have Read my Personal Statement?

I’m just about done with my Personal Statement but I would like to have someone look at it before I submit. I plan on having my English teacher look at it so that he can let me know if I made any grammar mistakes or anything like that.

Other than my English teacher, I would also like someone who is familiar with the USNA application and would be able to tell me if I properly answered the questions and gave them what they’re looking for.

If anyone knows of someone who would be willing to read it, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

What they are looking for, is to get to know you better beyond your activities statement and resume. I would suggest having someone who knows you, read it.

You don’t want blanket, canned responses. You want to paint a picture of who you are, through your words. Unique to you.

Write the essay only you could write.

Obviously this is for college essays but the underlying principles still hold. Admissions people see your numbers...SAT/ACT, GPA..but essays are designed to get to know more about YOU personally. So why write an impersonal essay that others could have written?
