Hi All,

I am currently in the process of completing my NROTC application and I am signing several statements. Does anyone know who the witnessing official would belong to? Would I just leave that blank when turning in it electronically?

It was the recruiter for my son. She is his POC for all things application.

Did you check the application instructions? https://www.netc.navy.mil/Commands/Naval-Service-Training-Command/NROTC/Apply/

Applicants must coordinate with their recruiter/coordinator in order to complete the following forms:
Statement of Understanding for NROTC Application
Debarment Statement for NROTC Application
Drug Statement for NROTC Application

Note: These statements cannot be witnessed by a family member.

As they used to tell me when I was an Ensign......it's hard to argue with someone who actually has the reference in their hand.

My DD recruiter told her she was able to have a parent sign as the witness. That’s what we did and it went through fine.

I definitely learned the value of pulling the actual instruction, highlighting what I thought were relevant sections, and asking folks to help me understand why this wasn't what we were doing.
