Not really topical, but I think techsuits are swimsuits that are slightly firmer/tighter than normal, so that swimmers can move faster. I don’t think there will be any serious racing so perhaps a less serious suit would be a better option, it would be cheaper too.On DDs packing list, it says she needs to bring a one-piece swimsuit. DD tends to be very modest so wondering if a Speedo suit like this would work or if it might cause negative attention. Thanks!

Its on the USAFAPS listI hadn't seen a swim suit on the packing list. DS is 2028 USAFA
Thank you SO MUCH!! This was super helpfulI'm USMA '28 and a swimsuit is also on my packing list! I totally understand the desire for modesty, however (I'm a competitive swimmer) this type of suit is a lower-end tech suit, which is for higher-level competition swimming, and is designed for high compression in certain areas. It might not be the most comfortable option for a swim test, in my opinion and experience. A modest option that was given as an example on the West Point packing list is this: https://us.speedo.com/moderate-ultraback-powerflex/13235808.html. Best of luck!
They also don't last very long. OP would start having issues after a couple of weeks. Those tech suits can also be royal pain to get into and out of, much less quickly.
To say it's anything but is a bit misleading. This is one of those halfway suits. It has the blue FINA approval that a tech suit is supposed to have. However it does not have the QR code. You are correct that it is not hydroponic, but according to the description it does provide compression technology. This is not a full tech suit, but it's not quite a normal practice suit either. I would still suggest that the OP should find another more basic suit for Academy purposes. That particular kneeskin is anything but a tech suit. It is the female analog to basic male jammers, which are worn for pretty much the same reason the OP is posting in the first place; the boys don't feel comfortable in a speedo (not the brand, the male bikini bottom). That suit does not provide compression, is not hydrophobic and will take no more time to put on than a regular tank suit. It most definitely is NOT a racing suit.
If modesty is the primary goal, then it is probably a decent option, although I support the full butt coverage tank option provided earlier in the thread.
I was thinking the same thing. I have to limit sun exposure these days. I have a whole wardrobe of swim shorts in short and mid-thigh length, and long and short sleeve rashguard-type tops, with coordinating tankini pieces. I use them for ocean swimming, SUP, sailing, body-surfing, etc. Lands End has a great selection, of coordinating pieces, plain solid colors suitable for non-festive military swim evolutions. They also have high-neck suits and tankini tops, bottoms with modest leg openings (not high cut).If modesty is the goal, a short sleeve rashguard top with shorts might be an option over top of a regular onepiece swimsuit. It would probably be more comfortable than a kneeskin
It has to be a one pieceIf modesty is the goal, a short sleeve rashguard top with shorts might be an option over top of a regular onepiece swimsuit. It would probably be more comfortable than a kneeskin
Unfortunately they have to be one pieceI was thinking the same thing. I have to limit sun exposure these days. Lands End has many solid, one-pieces with modest features. You can choose “modest” as a filter.Unfortunately they have to be one piece
