World Series

I’m grudgingly rooting for the Dodgers. If nothing else, their victory creates a cop out for us Cubs fans. “We lost to the WS champs...”

I was really disappointed by the Cubs game 5 performance.

While as a Dodger fan I was heartbroken over the loss to the Astros last night, I was amazed at the absolute craziness and up/down nature of the game.

It was bad for Dodger fans, but what a GREAT game for baseball fans.

That was a hell of a World Series. Games were reasonably quick, too, which baseball really needs to get on top of if they want to get the video-gamer/You-Tuber/smart-phone-starer generation to watch their product in future decades.

Vin Scully has announced that he will never watch another NFL game.

Vin Scully has announced that he will never watch another NFL game.

Here is Scully's quote to put this in context:

"I have only one personal thought, really. And I am so disappointed. And I used to love, during the fall and winter, to watch the NFL on Sunday. And it's not that I'm some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year -- didn't go anywhere, didn't do anything. But I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war. So the only thing I can do in my little way is not to preach. I will never watch another NFL game."
