Hi,

I am a little bit worried about class rank. My HS does not do class rank. In my school, it appears that a very, very high amount of people(not exaggerating) have a 4.0 unweighted GPA(including myself). How would this impact the class rank metric in USNA/USAFA? It seems like a tricky situation.

Thanks.

This is what your school will supply to USNA. Class rank may not be published to the students, but it is probably available internally. Note how USNA asks for it. This situation won’t surprise them; they will figure it out and use the clues they have.

Don’t forget this is a whole-person approach to candidate evaluation; many aspects are looked at. Be sure you are working hard on standardized test prep to counteract any vagueness in other parts of your HS academics.

And there is nothing you can do about it, so shelve the concern and press on. That is a life skill.

USNA has and can handle class rank issues. For example, there are a number of Home Schooled applicants who get accepted each year and their class rank is not of much use to the Admissions Board.

Alight. Thanks!
