WPPSP Scholarship Selection

DS is a USMA - 2027 applicant. He received a letter in his portal yesterday that he has been selected for the WPPSP grant/scholarship. I have a couple of questions. We are strongly considering GMC as a plan B while waiting on ROTC and college acceptances elsewhere.

1- the letter states he could still possibly receive an appointment this year. How likely is this?

2- if he does not receive an appointment next year, do the classes taken transfer for college credit elsewhere?

There are other questions but will start with these first 2. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I can't speak to question #1, but as to question #2, the answer is it depends. These are accredited junior colleges, so four-year schools will evaluate the courses and decide which ones transfer and which don't. The usual outcome is that some will and some will not, which is exactly the same as with any transfer from one accredited school to another.
