I've never heard of USNA preferring the SAT over the ACT myself... what do some of the others think?
USNA does not look at writing for the SAT, and USNA does not look at science, reading or writing for ACT.Hello, This is a new process for my DS and me. I have few questions.
From reading some posts online, I've heard that Naval Academy favors SAT vs ACT. My son took both tests. SAT (M740+R680 , writing is not good) is worse than ACT (33).
Should he just submit ACT only or both SAT and ACT? Is his ACT score good enough?
If he submit both, will his low SAT score impact the admission?
He is going to start the application process for the nominations which require his SAT or ACT scores. He needs to make the decision soon to send ACT only or both SAT & ACT.
Any information is highly appreciated.
Scores are great! Just remember scores are only a portion of the process . There are still many factors that will lead to the selection of appointees .Thanks to everyone's reply. Maybe I get wrong info..

I know this is not a question with easy answer. But my family is totally new to this process, we are learning the application process and nomination process online.
This forum is a good resource for us. Thanks again.

After you get 3 things done you get the DoDMERB?DD just finished and submitted her Candidate Activities Record, three things done, now onto waiting for the okay to take her physical. Things are moving along. I have to be honest, it was stressful watching her press the 'submit' button because there are no changes allowed. Oh boy, I need help At this rate, I will never make it out alive...nothing about 10 bottles of wine won't cure!
I agree with nom issue. DS had complete file for USNA and all nom packages completed by August & did not hear about his nomination until the last week of January. Get ready to wait.Sorry for more questions, as I mentioned that we are learning the application process and nomination process online.
1. From checking senior's and congressman's service academy nomination websites, they all have the deadline for the nomination application.
Question: will the seniors and congressmen give out the nomination letter before the deadline if the student sends out the nomination application before the deadline?
2. From checking the USNA admission website, it says 'official interview with your Blue and Gold Officer is required in order to complete an application'.
Question: When should the students contact their Blue and Gold Officer for interview?
Thanks for your help.
