Just got an email saying I was selected by Feinstein as an unranked nominee alternate. What would this mean in terms of gaining a nomination? Did I get Feinstein's nomination or what should be the next steps? Thanks for all the help!

For Sen Padilla, I believe he specifically waited so he would only interview applicants who were not part of Sen Feinstein's interviewee list (or final nominated list). Which I believe is fair in order to give more applicants a chance. DS was no longer interviewed but I felt if everyone was just screened based on the strength of the application on what was submitted, he would have gotten an interview. So the doubling up of nomination from Sen Padilla would not seem to apply. Plus since he is a new senator he may have wanted to run things differently. From what we've observed, his application portal seemed the most "high tech" and he seemed to be one of the supporters of modernizing and simplifying the nationwide academy nominations process (senate bill but forgot the number).

As for Sen Feinstein's process, her staffer mainly did administrative duties and didn't interview. Both interviewers in DS' case were veterans and have been participating in the selection panel for years. Also, at no point was DS asked about his other nomination applications' status - all interactions have been professional and supportive and only pertained to the Feinstein application.

Congratulation to you DS. My DS has not heard back from either senator Feinstein or senator Padilla. He was interviewed by the congressman on 12/06 and currently waiting to hear back. I am curious if they would let you know either way? The waiting is stressful, to say the least!

We have not heard back from the Feinstein interview or Padilla at all (USAFA). Has anyone heard back from Feinstein that they got a nomination to USAFA? Thanks.

Heard back today! I emailed the person who sent me the interview acceptance asking for an update. He replied saying I was nominated through Feinstein. Maybe check with them.
 
Yes son received call from Rep Stefanik on 12/10 for USMA and USAFA but nothing on either portal yet. Just wondering if there are any others with similar situation.

I believe you still received a nomination. Though it sounds like there might have been a principal on the slate the way you have it worded. Keep an eye on your portal. All 10 on the nomination slate will receive the nomination though the one sitting at #1 is in the better spot, but you are not out of the running.

My DS called the MOC office and got the message that they are closed for the holidays. Is this a normal process they go through each year I wondered?
 
My son just got the news he got an un-ranked alternate nomination from Senator Feinstein to the USAFA. Grateful to her and her panel for this. While I think this sounds like great news he got a nomination can anyone tell me what exactly this means? Do candidates who get this type typically get an appointment? Thank you for any insight.

Anyone from NY hear anything from either Senators or Representatives?
 
Hello. Is it normal that a MOC decides no to interview or participate in the nomination process? I believe the deadline is January 31st to post nominations so is it usual that a MOC waits until January tp set up Nomination interviews?
I dropped off completed package in person to the office of Rep Carlos Gimenez (FL 26) back in October and never heard anything from his office after that, no interview dates, no updates, total silence.
I’m trying to figure out if he interviewed but I was just not picked, so has anyone heard from Rep Carlos Gimenez office at all?
