Makes sense. But I don't see how would that be a, say, disadvantage.
From my experience, some people meet each other in real-life after meeting in FB (Summer Schools), but that in such a small proportion that I don't see how that group made any difference.
I could delete the group if you guys think it's bad. But again, I don't see how separating people from groups be a disadvantage - you meet a few people online, and different people in real-life... makes sense?

Is location the airport and is carrier the airline company?
I don't remember the 2 mi time that you put in having any sort of affect on what group you got put into. My squad had varying strengths of runners, and any longer runs that we did during SLS were as a company or platoon at a very managable pace.
