Got some promising news from our det/CC today: Looks like there were only ~2600 nominated, and a total of over 2400 slots given! We don't know the specifics yet, but this is very good news for all of us waiting, as he let us know the selection rate at those numbers is almost 93%!

Just a quick edit, although he got the statistics, he made it clear he hadn't gotten the actual names quite yet, so don't go thinking your cadre knows already! He let us know they're expecting it by midday tomorrow..
Good luck!
When I asked my APAS a few weeks ago what he expected the selection rate to be he said he could see 80%, which astonished all of us in. Since then I've heard
rumors up to 90%, which is awesome if true.
The thing to keep in mind though, as Pima has brought up before, is the difference in the number of cadets between 100 and 200 years. We (at ERAU) started with over 200 - we went into FTP with 41 (including 500s) and are down to 39. The two we lost were for medical.
At this point last year I was worried because the last class got killed in PSP, but seeing that we've only got the best left, it's no surprise if the rate is close to 90%, with GPA being the main factor at this point.
As to DoDMERB, when that news came in it sent a lot of us scrambling to get them in, but it got done and we heard back fast. This does bring up another important point that Pima noted as well -
double check your records!
I did DoDMERB two years ago and kept track of all of my records from and since then, so when round two came up, it was all in and approved the next day.
Second, even though I double checked my GPA last semester, the way the school showed grades on my transcript made the detachment calculate the Air Force version of it incorrectly. Had I not made an appointment "just to make sure" the week before EAs went up, I wouldn't have found the mistake that put not just me, but everyone in my class who took a certain course at risk of competing with a lower GPA - a pretty big deal.
For those of you coming up on your 200 year, keep a copy of everything and keep double checking your det for mistakes. Be able to go in, look at a number and be like "no, that's wrong, and here's why" while pulling out something to prove it.
This is all about your life.
