Hate to bring bad news, but word from commander is EAs might not even be out this coming week.
That can't be real.....

BTW.... Thanks to the addition of the newest member to SAF - ERAUMattroommates I'm going to have to watch what I post from now on.....
Welcome Tyler, Donny and Anthony...Nice avatar !!
Just a word of advice, you may not want to give out your son's roommates names on a public forum.
okay lets just say worst case scenario... what is the latest possible time we could be notified of EAs? If Max 1 starts on May 21, would they have to give us at least a 48 hour notice? So we could possibly notified as late as May 19?
They can technically cancel Max 1 and have Max 6 so that they can shift Field Training by a couple of weeks if things really do go that bad. A 48 hour notice would be terrible as you need to do several things before Field Training like Bag Drag, QFR, get your orders from Cadre, get updated shots, etc. Considering that by May 21 that many cadets would be back home releasing EAs in late May would be a massive charlie foxtrot for cadre to recall all of their cadets to return back to the detachment and make sure that they are accounted for. Out of state cadets would have the most burden as they would have to find a way to get back to their detachment to get their orders in such short notice. Two weeks notice sounds like a more appropriate timeline but it would still not compensate the cost for out of state cadets to return to their detachments to perform the QFR and receive the orders/flight tickets.
I'm really disappointed in how all of this is happening not just in AFROTC but in Active duty. While we are waiting in news if we are getting in, officers in the Air Force are waiting for news if they are getting out. I have heard about officers leaving the Air Force due to frustrations with the Big Blue and now I can see what they mean. Hopefully EAs will be released soon and lessons would be learned to prevent this from happening again.

I remember that was about our costs for DS plus some more because DS wears glasses, but his vision is not that bad that he needs them 24/7, thus we never purchased a second pair. Hence, we had to buy another pair.
Plus, when the det handed out the 2nd pair of blues pants they were brand new and unhemmed and we had to pay for them to get hemmed. FYI, if they gave your kids unhemmed pants like us, the AF pants are hemmed differently than suit pants.
I think in the end our total was in the 350 range for us, but if you don't have these issues than it should be in the 225 range. Sunblock isn't cheap, nor is getting the higher quality socks and moleskins. Bullet really paid attention to those things, probably like Romad because they both did time in the field on their feet. Don't skimp, make sure the socks are plush. I also think we purchased his camo tees from the BX military clothing and got him the camo under armor tees if I recall correctly. If we didn't do it for SFT, we did for him before he left for casual status at Del Rio.
ERAU, is correct. I would say that if this is frustrating you, just wait. DS got his first RNLTD in March for AD for May 10th. OOPS AF, DS didn't have his last final until May 12th, graduation was May 20th, commissioning was May 26th. You'd think they would have known when his college would be done with classes, or at least commissioning since it won the largest best det in the nation that year.
His next RNLTD to TX from MD was May 30th. The AF considered that a 3 day travel. IOWs he would have to leave the next a.m. This set of orders came down April 15th. Those orders were cancelled too.
As of his commission date it was Aug. 2nd. Those orders were cancelled July. August 2nd, he received his final date. RNLTD Sept 30th.
Now, he maybe an exception, but you maybe too. The point is for 5 months his life kept changing regarding when he was going to start his AF life. He watched peers get their start date in March and it never changed. When the dates dropped for DS the 1st, 2nd and 3rd time classmates were jealous because he was leaving so quickly compared to them. In the end, he was the last last to go to ADAF and he was the one jealous.
