AFROTC Field Trainng 2014

Although the 2015 class at USAFA took the AFOQT this year, they were told it was going to be used for "tracking" purposes as opposed to being used as an AFSC selection tool.

Where are they tracking them to?

The USAFA classes of 2011 and on took the AFOQT as part of a data gathering project to track the correlation (or non-correlation) of high AFOQT scores to success in pilot training. I believe the ROTC stats are collected and are used as part of the same data group. One of my son's Stats classes in his Firstie year worked with this data for a project. I don't know if there is a plan to ever use the scores in AFSC selection for zoomies.

That is interesting because you would think that they would just pull the AFROTC and OCS numbers since for eons that has been part of selection process for UPT. When I mean eons, Bullet had to take the test back in the 80's when he was in AFROTC for his rated board.

I could see them using that data to compare the scores from different commissioning sources and than looking at that from a UPT success perspective. I.E. they may want to re-work PCSM 2.0 to reduce even more the % that they give for the CoC's rec portion, and increase the AFOQT and TBAS portion or change the % of the cgpa regardless of degree counts for, and push it towards the tests. Remember AFA is the little engineering school in the rockies, and ROTC/OCS grads can have degrees in anything and everything at different academic caliber schools, thus again it could give insight if PCSM 2.0 needs to become PCSM 3.0.
