If your university is like my DSs, your 1st university transcript is on record with them. There is no need for your SSN to do a background search.
~ My DS2, (non-ROTC) went to a CC and transferred to the 4 yr as a junior. His 4 yr gpa is different because they only use his cgpa at the current school for his standing, the CC cgpa does not count.
However, from what I know for AFROTC, they will use both. In essence, it will not be the 3.6.
That being said, I was always under the impression only contracted cadets (scholarship/POC), must have 2.5 to participate.
I would contact the unit. Ask them what is the avg cgpa for your major regarding SFT selection. How far off are you from 2.5. The avg tech cgpa is 3.0. 1 more semester can mean you will be closer to 3.0.
The biggest chunk for SFT is not cgpa. It is CoC ranking. A low cgpa can be offset with a high AFOQT. Have you started to study the AFOQT?
~ High AFOQT and PFA can offset a low cgpa.
There are cadets with a 2.7 cgpa tech that get SFT, but those same cadets hit out of the ball park their AFOQT and PFA, with at least a top 1/3rd ranking.
Use the next few months wisely. Show up on day 1 ready to max the PFA. Form matters. AFOQT is akin to the ACT. It is timed. If you want rated, than try to get in some flight hours in over the next year.
Don't give up, and by contacting them privately now, AND scoring high on the PFA/AFOQT, as a 250 you can shine, which in turn means rising to the top for the CoC ranking.
~ Hiding your academic history, impo, only hurts. Honesty, shows maturity and dedication to them.
