April AROTC Board

I can't recall reading about that message in prior posts. Perhaps there are some new status messages being used since this is the last board.

This is the standard message that stays there until you receive an offer. My son's has said that since his application was submitted back in February.

Ditto.

CC said today that they will be making offers-they still don't know when.

Daughter was told (Sat am) by College PMS that Monday CC is releasing the board results and offering scholarships:smile::smile::smile:

Pretty quiet as of 10:00 Monday morning, sure wonder what is going on??
Anybody hear anything yet?
Please keep us posted if you hear anything....:thumb:

I think it was more mid-morning when status' started to change. I know my son's changed around 11:00 am or so.

Fingers crossed for you all.

It's 2PM EST, status still the same.

Son was asked to have a follow-up call tomorrow PM with the PMS at one of his preferred schools - PMS said he would have word 3 days before candidates would be notified, and that Son should talk to him again at that point to see what his options were (potential campus-based scholarship).

Interesting thing, this school was a last-minute addition to my son's preferences list, but since they reached out to him a month ago to guage his interest level, the repeated follow-up and dialog have led him to desire this school over all others.

His situation is a bit different from many on this board, apparently, in that he's not really visited ANY schools in-person - can't afford the travel, either in terms of $s or time away from school/sports this year. So his opinions are based on what he's researched on the web, what he knows of the location, and - now - the in-person contact with the cadre.

Prayers welcome as we await the decisions!

HwtDad - back in the day, the first visit most kids made was move-in day.

My daughter went to Marion Military and had never visited. In fact, having read your posts - your son might want to consider MMI. They generally have scholarships, maybe even this late. He can do two years in the ECP, commission in the Guard or Reserves when he graduates with his Associates degree and transfer for his final two years.

Nice to hear that he has some potential options with campus scholarships-good luck.

April Board Status

Numbers appear to be in flux, though a resolution is imminent (we hope). The PMS at my son's first choice school just told me that two scholarships which had been awarded previously were expected to be released due to service academy appointments.

Just looked on the scholarship status web sight and it changed to a 800 number and said was having trouble with our request and to call this number. Anyone else had this yet? I did call the number and it was a recording to leave his name and SS number and they would get back to us. What does this mean since now his status changed from the interview at your local pms?

That happens when the wrong ssn or dob is entered. I've done it a few times myself.

That happened to me just now when looking up my daughter's and my daughter's had previously said "Scholarship accepted at ___". So, it's not necessarily a problem, I don't think.

I've had that happen more than once. It's when you enter something incorrectly.

It happened to me too today and all my information was correct. No typos

Yeah, I did it 3 or 4 times and it kept saying that. I just checked it now and it was back to saying "you have accepted a scholarship at ____". So, I guess maybe it was just down for a time.

It is my recollection that the site was down or had other issues prior to the December Board results being published, and some other boards as well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone still waiting that the updates will be coming soon. Good luck!

Status changed

My son's status changed today from the usual "You have been selected for an interview......." to "You may check your medical qualification status by visiting the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board DoDMERB WebSite". Is this a good thing?:confused:

From what I have seen on other threads here...YES, this is a good thing: means he's been selected to receive a scholarship, and now goes to the Medical Review stage.

Congratulations, and best wishes for his college experience, and his service t our country.
