We loved both Baylor and TCU...he is visiting Ole Miss this week..Yay, such an awesome school and campus. I really hope my DS chooses to go there..
Ole Miss offered to pick up year 1 and R&B.Ole Miss is nice! Can't go wrong with TCU or Ole Miss.
My son will be attending the Citadel this fall. Looks like they will be in the same battalion together. Still waiting on scholarship status to change, but I suspect he was deferred this time around since it appears scholarship winners were already notified. He got scholarship offers for College of Charleston and Charleston Southern University. Those are his top two. Both are part of the Palmetto Battalion at The Citadel. The ROO at the Citadel is a great guy and really sold my DS on the program there. I have to say The Citadel is a very special place but I also agree with my DS that being in that military environment 24/7 isn't what I'd want for my 4 years. Those other schools give you the chance to have a regular college experience while still getting the benefit of fantastic military instruction at The Citadel and commissioning out of The Citadel Army ROTC program.
He's also been accepted to Liberty and Penn State (didn't really like it, too big) and is still waiting to hear from Bucknell which was a late flier on a Regular Decision application. Haven't visited Liberty or Bucknell yet so we all as a family have some things to figure out now.
Good luck in the March board! Hope you are able to celebrate some good news soon.My son will be attending the Citadel this fall. Looks like they will be in the same battalion together. Thank you! This process really takes a lot of patience, I really want to continue with VMI's post-appointment process but realistically I'm not sure if I can go without the aid the ROTC scholarship will provide. I'm looking for various weaknesses and potential areas that I can strengthen in my application. Any advice would be appreciated! If you don't get one now, my guess is you will be very competitive for the March board. Good luck!
Well, at this point if you've been boarded, the only way to boost your score is an improved ACT/SAT score or improved PFT. I don't believe there are any more tests available in time to get results for the March board. So, that takes you down to making sure you have max points on the PFT. Not a lot of extra points to be had there, but every little bit helps. Good luck!Thank you! Well, the board won't actually look at them. But if you upload a new PFT form with higher scores, yes, it will get processed and you will get the additional points you are entitled to on your Whole Person Score. Remember, the PFT is worth a maximum of 150 points out the 1400 total. So, it's not a lot of points. But if you can pick up say 30 points there, it might be enough to move you ahead of dozens of people on the master Order of Merit List. And that could be the difference between getting a scholarship or not. Will they really look at an updated PFT for March boards if you were boarded in January and deferred to March? Thanks
Do you know what times and numbers you have to hit for the PFT to get maximum scores? I was told it was 6:30, 50 and 50.Well, the board won't actually look at them. According to the Marquette website, they offer $7k/yr toward Room & Board for 4 year winners. For 3 year winners they give the full $28k to Freshman to apply toward tuition and fees.DS received 3 year which is wonderful. He has received from his #3 school an offer that they would pick up 1st year and offer $9k in years 3 and 4 for housing. His #1 is Marquette, does anyone know if they offer help on year 1?
It says you have been boarded so my guess is you were reviewed by a previous board and remain in contention for a scholarship.Hi all,
I've become increasingly concerned about the status of my academic information being labeled as "pending approval" and my school councilor feedback being "not completed" (is this required?). Is there any way to fix this? Has this hindered me from getting a response from the board? Below I've attached images of what this looks like. Any help is appreciated.View attachment 15531View attachment 15532
We emailed them about this same situation multiple times. I am the counselor as a homeschool Mom. I sent it in, but it was never added. They said it wasn't needed. I will say that my DS did win a 4 year on the 2nd board.Hi all,

use the email link they provide you...all applicants have a contact for these kind of questions. They are assigned alphabetically. They are pretty quick to respond to questions.Hi all,
