My application is mostly complete for the Army. However, my academic information is still incomplete. My status says "Guidance Counselor Feedback:Sent" Does anybody know how this works? Do they just send out an email to your guidance counselor?

My DS's says Guidance Counselor Feddback: not started. How long ago did you fill out the guidance counselor e-mail address? Just wondering how long it takes for them to e-mail the form to the guidance. But I guess I would also like to know how that works, and also if they e-mail information to the coach he had to list for the PFT. He copied the PFT form and is giving it to his coach tomorrow so he can do the assessment this week or next.

I probably filled that a few weeks ago. For the pft I just printed out a copy and gave it to the coach myself. They already approved my pft scores.

OK, DS just filled out the information a few days ago. I also imagine some guidance counselors are not yet in their offices. I am having S stop in the office to talk to the secretary to tell her to be on the lookout for these e-mails.

Even though DS keyed in his guidance counselor & coach info. over a week ago, his status for both is also saying Not Started. My gut tells me that CC is waiting for everything to be provided on the application before they start this process. DS just took PFT yesterday, so we still have to scan in the form to be uploaded to CC. He also hasn't had a chance to scan in his transcripts, either. Lastly, he printed out CC Form 168-R this morning to take to his guidance counselor to fill out. He's going to scan in a copy once it's been completed. If memory serves, your DS is ahead of ours in terms of getting things keyed into the application. However, I'm wondering if the fact that he hasn't done the PFT yet (if I'm correctly understanding what you're saying above) and scanned in the form, if that's holding up the emails being sent out. When we were with the coach yesterday, we told him to keep an eye out for an email from CC. I also sent DS guidance counselor an email this morning letting him know about the upcoming email.

Did you ever break the seal on DS transcripts and scan them in? If so, has status on that item changed from "Pending" to "Approved" yet?

By the way, is everyone having fun yet?!:bang:

My counselor status says approved only one or two days after submitting her email. On my transcripts I just uploaded a copy that the counselor sends out to all incoming Seniors. The transcript said "not valid unless signed and stamped with the official school seal" but CC approved it anyway

Thanks for that information! Do you happen to know what CC sent to your guidance counselor in the email (i.e. was it CC Form 168-R)?

Still waiting for CC to verify and approve my Guidance Counselor info, and PFT verification. I'm gonna go crazy from this process, along with normal college apps....

I know -- I feel for all you kids going through this. But, at least you're trying to get as much of it taken care of before school starts as possible. Also, just view it as one of many challenges you will face as you go through life. In hindsight, no matter what the outcome, this will just be a blip.

    Hang in there!

    PATIENCE

Not everything happens instantly. There are people on the other end of the information you send in that have things to do besides your application.

If you're wanting to go into the military you better get used to endless forms and paperwork to fill out and waiting. and WAITING and WAITING....and standing in lines and waiting some more.

Now is a good time to start practicing patience.

We snail mailed the transcript and a copy of the SAT/ACT scores. Tried to scan and do the upload, but our computer apparently does not have enough space to install the scanner software. So snail mail it is.
So if we give the coach the PFT form(and snail mail it back once filled out), and then he gets the e-mail, is the e-mail just another copy of what he already filled out(and if so, does he have to also sen that in), or is this something different?
Ditto for the guidance - is it this form some of you are giving them, or is it different?
And QA, it is not so much that we don't have patience.....everyone is excited!
And in our case, with all of the applications we are trying to get done before school starts....well, yes we would love the process to go smoothly and without a hitch.

Oh I understand excitement, but just think, once everything is done you have to wait for the first board to meet, then possibly the second or the third. Finish the applications, give them time to post everything. If you've complete all the steps then you are done.

I'm not saying don't follow up and follow thru, just realize that not everything from this point out is instant.

I know you are aware of that as a parent, but some youthful posters have grown up in a world of instantaneous response and gratification and patience is something they need to learn.

I've just always heard (from this forum) that if you want CC to do anything soon, you have to constantly stay on them. If I were to let them take their time verifying my info, now I'm in the position of having to miss school to interview. So really, I'm just trying to be proactive so that both sides win, not necessarily impatient.

Understood, and I wish all the applicants good luck.

Just keep in mind that you may be at the mercy of the person doing your interview. He may wish to do it after school starts when all the cadre is back and they are not short handed or getting ready for school to start. Just saying.

And since when was missing school a bad thing? I thought that's what seniors lived for:smile: DS's high school gave them so many excused days to visit colleges.

    Again, good luck to all.

The enrollment officer at the college DS will interview at had said to call him when we had completed the app and he would set up the interview....so at the end of next week S will call him and tell him what all of the statuses say and he can figure out the interview, or tell him to wait or whatever.
The only bad part about even an excused absence for a college visit is having to make up the work. That does not go away even if it is excused, so we are also hoping to complete this this month.

We've pretty much given up hope of getting the interview taken care of before school starts. It would be a nice surprise, but I'm not holding my breath. School starts the 19th and DS still has things he needs to put into the application. Oh well!

Oh boy, you start early. We don't start until after Labor Day, so we have more time! Good luck!

I honestly have no idea! I'd have to ask her. To be honest I'm surprised she got to it because she's not technically working yet

Websites go down all the time. There is no reason to freak out about it. If it persists there must be some number that you, and all the applicants, will be calling. Rest assured your data has not been lost.
