Any thoughts on protocol for accepting at the Naval Academy if you have already accepted your Plan B as another service Academy? If it’s a regular school, it feels like it won’t be as hard as turning down another service Academy when we’ve already accepted.

Bit of an update on my DD. She was awarded the NROTC National Scholarship. Now comes the movement on plan B while we wait for the desired outcome on plan A. Any advice regarding decisions in her plan B would most certainly be appreciated! Her options are listed in order of importance to her.
  1. As with everyone in here . . . she wants to be moved off the WL to FQOA
  2. NROTC (nothing on DoDMERB likely needs waiver) or USMMA (waiting on waiver decision - has a qualified appointment)
    1. If NROTC - she needs to request a placement change to either RPI or Illinois Tech as the top 3 were either full or she didn't get in
Thank you again to everyone in here for being so generous with your knowledge/experience with this entire process.

Sounds like she has it lined up appropriately. Keep working on 2 and getting the change in place. Stay in shape and hope for the best!

From the FAQ on waitlists....

We have offered appointments to approximately 1,250 of those students; we expect 1,170 students to accept our offer and enroll at USNA. If fewer than 1,170 students accept our offer, we will then offer admission to additional students who have been put on our Wait List.

Just so we understand how the WL works.

On a different topic, does anyone know the way waitlisted people are notified? Email, portal, phone call?

My dd was call, portal, email. Also class of ‘26

My DD just got her FQOA to USMMA today, so we are in the exact same scenario (without the DoDMERB waiver). Her NROTC would likely be U of St. Thomas crosstown to U of Minnesota.

We will work through all of it, but right now I bet USMMA is a better option for her than USNA reapply and losing a year. I guess we’d better head out to look at King’s Point.
