Is faxing better than mailing? Even after the 31 jan deadline (<<---correct me if that was not the deadline for 2016), I still kept mailing in accomplishments like my minority officer told me to do for WP (my high school doesnt let me fax info) And how do you know if the candidate's package has met the board already?Yes. You can update your package. My son's package had already met the board and they said that it never hurts to keep everything current. Just fax the data with a cover sheet.
Humm- we were told no update would be considered after the Jan 31 deadline. That was not only from ALO but also directly from admissions. Think the only exception is for Dodmerbs and waivers.

"Interesting" news today. DS was interested in both USAFA and USNA. He received an LOA and offer of appointment to USNA, but he's been waiting to see if he would be offered an appointment to USAFA and could choose. Unfortunately(?), his USAFA portal changed and said his application was "Complete but administratively disqualified." His USAFA counselor said that his CFA score was no longer competitive and that because the competition is so tough this year, they are not allowing "re-do's." So...DS will be going to USNA. The choice between the two was close anyway, so we're celebrating him going to USNA. His best friend is a fellow football player on our HS football team, he is also going to USNA as a recruited athelete (an offensive back). I was looking forward to taking a week vacation in Co. Spgs. this June and meeting many of you, but that's not in the cards. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and guidance. Good luck to all of you! And if, like our DS, your DS or DD doesn't get that BFE from USAFA, I know that these outstanding young men and women will have great Plans B, C, D etc. and will serve our nation wonderfully and be incredibly successful in whatever they do, whether it's in the USAFA or elsewhere. If I had a wish for all of you that don't get a BFE, it would be that you would be as happy with the Plan B, as we are with DS's. May God Bless! ...BTW, for those of you watching, DS is TX-14.

My understanding is that the CFA is an important part of the WCS, obviously it's more important this year! DS was a lineman and linebacker on our HS team. He delayed putting in his CFA because he was trying to lose weight and improve his pull ups. Being a big guy he struggled with it. He's lost about 20 pounds since he put in his CFA scores, but they're not going to open the portal for a re-do. So USAFA is being VERY picky this year, especially considering that he got an LOA from Navy a few days after he completed his CFA (which was the final item he had needed to complete his app). Don't be too scared about it on his account though. When he went to USAFSS this past summer, he said there was only one other person there that was of his size. It is a lot harder to haul 215 pounds of muscle over a chin-up bar than it is for most people. I guess what to take away from this is to have a great plan B, and C. And to keep in mind that our "kids" are pretty fantastic just to be competing candidates and will be great no matter where they end up!Wasn't the CFA lumped in with ALO interview, writing sample, fac and staff review for 20% of the WCS? Wow, this is scary. Good that your DS had the appointment to USNA. Good luck to him!
