Honestly the answer is correct it is not in regs. I understand the pride you have for earning it, trust me an Eagle Scout is no easy feat.
HOWEVER, the thing you need to do as a C100 cadet is not to highlight yourself too much in that manner. This will not be like the boy scouts, and it can become a negative. You are now in the AFROTC program.
Once you get there you will realize that. Also, our DS and his friends who have been in AFROTC do not wear their ROTC uniforms to weddings or such. The reason why is they understand that they are not AD. They actually prefer to wear suits and blend in with everyone. People who matter know your success and it will be talked about, plus, the haircut gives it away really quick! People who don't will assume you are AD and it just creates confusion.
Additionally, the reason why if you ask any cadet (ROTC or AFA) those blues take alot more time to get ready than slapping on a suit.
You have to remember to bring every little piece with you home for the occasion. If I recall correctly, until you are contracted you hand back those uniforms at the end of the yr, so if you converted a Type 7 to a 3 yr Type 2, that uniform will not be with you over summer break.
Trust me they only give you limited shirts and ring around the collar happens quickly. Just picked up 3 sets from the dry cleaner for DS, and he wears ABUs most of the time. Buy yourself WISK to take to school because that is the best in getting out ring around the collar!
Niagara spray starch is also the best for the shirts to keep them crisp.
Also, if you are a military child, go to the BX, buy 1 extra short and 1 extra long sleeve shirt. Plus, one extra pair of blues pants. Your child will thank you for it. Don't forget to get more white undershirts, black socks and shirt garters too.
ABU's will not be offered to them until C200 IF they get SFT.
