I hate to gravebump this thread (not really), but is there a way to check how many nominations a senator or representative can make in a given year?
I come from a competitive state (TX) and live in a competitive district which is making me uncertain as to what is going to happen. I was planning on contacting my BGO and my ALO in the coming weeks as I get the ball rolling on the majority of my application.
For reference: I think I'm a pretty average candidate - 3.3 GPA 1 year in engineering at TAMU, 3.9 GPA in HS, NHS, varsity wrestling (lettered once), doing pretty well on CFA, had multiple jobs (3 were leadership based) and a prestigious internship through a state government action and I was even there for the bill signing and interviewed by the governor (but I ended up moving states so that's not gonna help me now, but I'll do anything I can to help my package). I did move my senior year of high school and kept up with my achievements without faltering, if that works in my favor.
Given my statistics and the probability that there's possibly only 1 or 2 spots open at both USAFA and USNA (in my district there were 7 appointments for class of '19, 2 this year (class of '22) upon doing 30 seconds of research) and I come from a place where both appointments last year were basically mutants (one guy was 4 time varsity wrestling, head of house student council, and an eagle scout - the other guy was 2 sport varsity athlete, district champion, student hero program director for a food bank, NJROTC platoon commander, and AP scholar with distinction) Both of them were appointed to USNA. In may 2016 1 was appointed and in may 2015 3 others were appointed to USNA. Does this mean there are no USNA spots for my congressman? USNA is my first pick and USAFA my second (if I had to rate them but I don't even know if I'm good enough) but my end goal is to get into either academy because I know once I get in it'll allow me to prove myself among my fellow midshipmen/cadets.
