How were you notified of your MOC Nom?

If you search principal nominations on this forum you will see many discussions indicating that a principal nomination does not guarantee an appointment. The Code of Federal Regulations requires West Point and AFA to appoint principal nominees that are 3Q. There is no corresponding regulation applicable to USNA. And, in fact, there were apparently several instances some years ago where multiple principal nominees did not receive appointments. Sorry to burst your bubble. And, yes, others on here have received principal nominations.

Just joining in now. My son got notification of nomination to the USNA from our MOC on Dec. 15th with a phone call. The MOC said that he was his 'Primary' nomination to the USNA, which we are told that he is 'assured' of an appointment, according to the MOC.
Since our MOC and our Blue and Gold officer has told us that an appointment is forthcoming, we are just waiting for the actual appointment from the USNA to make it official.

Has anyone else received a 'Primary' or 'Principal' nomination?

He also received a nomination (not primary) to the USMA and the USMMA.

DS is a Principal Nom from his MOC. He was notified via email. Next day the CIS was updated. Keep checking CIS. The reliable info is in there. Hope you get a happy update there!

DS was principal, too. Good stuff! Congrats. Where do you live?

We live in Santa Clarita, CA. Our congressman is new and this is his first time through this process.
What is CIS and 3Q?

Candidate Information System, i.e., the portal. And Triple qualified, CFA, DoDMERB and scholastically.

My son got principle nom from MOC, his portal says pending review with nom?? Should I get exited about principle nom or does it not matter, is he 99% in?? Congress spoke to him like he was going to USNA telling him how summer is tough etc and giving him pointers?? He does not hv LOA, his West Point portal has him 3q'd but Navy doesn't say anythingon porter?

New congressman, that may explain the honest mistake. Assured maybe not, but likely is a fair term.

Best wishes Wally, please keep us up to date, hope our sons are good friends some day!
