I-Day Travel Plans

pmlutton: Nametags, great idea! Let's pick a spot on the yard for mid day on I-Day! Or I'd be willing to invite all parents to stop by the house on Fleet Street we have rented for 3 days...............

Count me in too - I like the nametag thing - that way you don't have to be someplace at a certain time - we can just recognize each other.
 
Hi everyone, I'm so excited for all of you!
What day exactly is I-day this year?
I am not an appointee (yet!), but hopefully will be for class of 2014

the funny thing is, I'll be at Navy Rowing camp the last week of June/beginning of July. So it sounds like I'll be there on I-day! Honestly, I'm a bit intimidated! ahaha...so i'm guessing there will be a lot of plebes running around the yard : )
 
USNA I-Day is Wed, 1 July, this year. It's usually the last Wed in June or first Wed in July, with an occasional Friday in there every so often to adjust the calendar.
 
Do not go lurking around the yard on the 2nd in hopes of getting a glimpse of your Plebe. It's ok to be on the yard but if you see Plebes - go the other way!
 
profmom, I think Academy_Questions is going to be at USNA for a sports camp. Not plebe hunting on July 2!

He/she is hoping to be an appointee for 2014!

Good advice any parents tempted to try to find their plebe once plebe summer starts! I have heard of some parents who go down on weekends during plebe summer, hoping to catch a glimpse!
 
yes, not to worry! i'm a current high school junior and will be at the Navy Girl's Rowing Camp that week. no "plebe-hunting" for me ;)
 
I-Day

My son was accepted about 3 weeks ago and is in Annapolis now for an official visitation weekend! We are thrilled to be part of all this and have been reading posts ... all help so much ... there is so much to learn! We're from Reno, NV ... we'll be in the DC area from June 27-July 3 ... with Mr. Plebe and our 16-year old twins ... I'm sure they'd like to meet other siblings ...

Just wanted to share that you can have buttons made at zazzle.com. Great nametags!! You can put photos and text on the buttons.
 
I-DAY

Last year we stayed at Two-o-one BB. It is located between Gates 1 and 3. The owner has a private parking lot and let us park early on I-day. We also stayed there on Parents weekend. I know they have a website with pictures.
