Israel Orders the Evacuation of 1.1 Million People.

... so the craziness - madness just started and going to stratosphere level.

Few minutes ago, media reported that a convoy of evacuees was hit by a strike - total killed 70.

... so a foreign war correspondent claimed that there's 300 miles of tunnel in the north Gaza area. Just looking in tunnel comparison from U.S. History:

* Vietnam War
Length: 130 miles
Casualties: 58,220 KIA
** Battle of Okinawa:
Length: 1 Kilometer
Casualties: 12,520 KIA
*** Battle of Iwo Jima:
Length: 11 miles
Casualties: 6,140 KIA

I’m not a traditional prayerful person. Fallen Catholic and all. But I sure as heck am praying. My adult lifelong belief that acts in the name of various religion has led to more death than life won’t change. But I may be seeking some prayer in my life with the situation in our current times. I understand the Israeli position post the terrorist attacks and massacres.

I understand that not all Palestinians are supporters of Hamas.

I understand that people when not oppressed or used as human shields might elect someone other than their oppressor.

I am also terrified for our world. Completely.

Here a snippet of another poll from 2013. I wonder what has changed since then?

According to a 2013 Pew Poll of Palestinians:

89% believe in Sharia Law should be the law of the land.
75% support sharia courts deciding issues.
40% (the highest in the world) support suicide bombing.

Thanks and good for you for posting comments about a survey that actually exists :)

I hate it when people make up surveys and argue about polls that only exist in their minds and do not exist in reality. I find that dishonest. I know what a SA would call that approach.

I am going to take a look at this before I comment. Thanks again an honest approach to debating,

It’s outrageous that you carry on like you do. It’s actually embarrassing. Now you are saying I made something up.

I simply said I just saw a recent survey that said a majority of Palestinians support Hamas. It was on twitter. It was a news article posted by a rabbi with many views.

And you made a joke about doing surveys during the war response. Because maybe you thought I said the majority of Palestinians in Gaza?

Because I disagreed with you in the past about Trump?

Two very different surveys. And in the two page Pew summary I have a quick look at and I have not found the numbers you have found. I only have the summary and there is a lot there to go through..

Pew is a survey that looks at attitudes in at least 14 different countries including France, Germany SA, USA, etc etc not of Gaza alone.

One thing that did jump out In the summary. Positive views of Israeli. 1 out of 14 countries surveyed in Pew had a majority positive attitude of the Jewish state. The USA.

The USA was the only one and that was barely a majority with sightly over 50%.

10 year gap between different pew and the WI surveys I bet lots of attitudes have changed. And lots no doubt have changed in the last 7 days.

Have you found the survey or poll done of Gaza attitudes that you claim exists and was done to measure attitudes of those in Gaza about the attack Of last week. ?

You gave me your word it existed “and that you had seen it “ and it was discussed in msm. It’s the “I have seen it “ part that is troubling to me.

and that this survey was easily available via msm including ABC.

All you had to say when I pointed out in a friendly way that you had made a mistake, an easy to make mistake , in misreading a misleading headline was ——thanks.

Instead you claimed you read a poll done during the fighting that does not exist,.

I don’t care who you vote for I find you dishonest in this. And “this” is all we are talking about.

Now if that survey you gave me your word exists “ and you saw it” I want you to post a link here. Otherwise I will think you were not being honest.

And the only thing we can hope here on SA is not that we are chatting with people we always agree with but the people we are chatting with are honest.

Where did I say Gaza supports Hamas. I said Palestinians. You do know Palestinians live outside of Gaza, right? You misread it. Go back and look.

Now you are claiming I said the polls were done during the fighting.

Here - I will save you time and show you the post for your convenience. The mistake was made by you.

And fyi - if you don’t know how Twitter works. I saw a tweet by someone I don’t follow and clicked and read the first paragraph. I didn’t like it or respond. I don’t remember who posted it. I can’t find it - until it comes across my feed again.

Didn’t they elect Hamas as their government?

I saw a recent poll that said 57% of Palestinians support what Hamas did.

I stand by what I said. Not what you misunderstood.

Thank you for writing this which matches my life and thoughts almost word for word. If prayer can accomplish anything positive, this appears to be the time to give it our all.

It’s actually worse than the summary I read:

Suicide Terrorism

2011-arab-spring-02.png
Only a minority of Muslims – and in some cases a very small minority – endorses suicide terrorism in these nations, with one clear exception: the Palestinian territories. Roughly seven-in-ten Palestinian Muslims (68%) say that suicide bombing and other forms of violence against civilian targets can often or sometimes be justified in order to protect Islam from its enemies. Large majorities hold this view in both Gaza (70%) and the West Bank (66%).

Thanks

And a survey , which I posted, 10 years later finds that 62% of those surveyed in Gaza did not support Hamas breaking the cease fire with Israeli. Done before this recent attack.

It will be interesting to see what the attitudes are in Gaza, in the US, around the world a few months from now.

And in the US 50% of Americans saw the attack on our Capitol as wrong and an attack on democracy. 44% said no big deal. A Bookings survey.

People will often disagree and over time attitudes change..

I would be very curious what those numbers would look like in Iran today.

It’s Israel’s land, period. Palestians have no right to it. This Free Palestine movement is complete nonsense and backed by the UN in unthinkable ways. Essentially anti semitism in its worst form. Palestinians/Hamas act like it was taken from them. They had a two state choice many decades ago and refused to make the deal but got busy to work trying to go to war to take it instead. Israel has every right to defend themselves. And I don’t doubt that every Palestian would sacrifice themselves to take the land from the Jews. They would be declared martyrs in doing so.

We have to be careful of using words like “every” Palestinian.

Doesnt matter what they think, they are of no importance. To control Arab countries you need an Israel, to control Israel you need a Hamas. If you leave them alone, they will become too powerful. To control Hamas you need a Kassam. We can apply this to every region. To control Europe you need a Russia; to control Japan you need a North Korea. The list goes on like this.

To control Iran, you need an Iraq - the land barrier between Iran and Israel.

Oh wait, weapons of mass destruction.
