You mean there are two sides to the story? That the media isn't impartially providing facts? Nah, can't be.

You really should leave Gold Star families out of the political circus. They shouldn't be used as pawns. Both sides are guilty.

Here's the letter on Mr. Mark's site. https://globalriskinfo.com/2016/07/31/an-open-letter-to-khizr-khan/

There were numerous responses to it, some applauding the letter, others critical of it, some thoughtful, some vile. Mr. Mark, who is apparently a Trump supporter and thus not objective, nevertheless showed class in his responses to those which were critical but polite.

Regarding the disparate headlines in the second post, it is misleading to suggest that a blogger for the Rachel Maddow show represents the media overall. Maddow is the opposite side of the coin from Sean Hannity, who very likely would have flipped the headlines. Recall that from the beginning of his campaign, Donald Trump received a disproportionately large amount of coverage from the media, including frequent opportunities to appear on MSNBC's Morning Joe show.

As to the Khans, had Donald Trump simply said: "Thank you for your son's service to our country. I join you in grieving at his loss." and left it there, that might have been the end of the story. Instead, his campaign may never fully recover from his unforced error of belittling the onstage silence of Mrs. Khan.

One more thing: SAF got through the 2012 Presidential election without devolving into a mud-fight between Obama and Romney supporters and has generally been free of partisan political rancor.

These parents were uniquely qualified for this speech, in that they are Muslim, with a child who served and ultimately sacrificed his life for others in service to the US.
Donald Trump has been talking out of his a$$ about deporting all the Muslims and banning them. Imagine being these parents whose son died this way and hearing someone who may be the POTUS, say he wants to deport all Muslims. It's a personal attack on all Peace loving Muslims.

Donald Trump unfortunately can't get out of his own way. It's actually more painful to watch him explain why he said something. It's like listening to a child. And that's not even a statement on the Dems. Because Trump continues to "step in it", Clinton's real shortcomings (and there are MANY) aren't discussed.

I wish I could hibernate for 4-8 years...

A good template for Trump would have been Bush 43's response to Cindy Sheehan.

Don't be too hasty, LITS. We might enjoy it at first, but after a while we'd come to miss you.

Try a Rip Van Winkle. I am close to the Hudson and may go look for those Guys. Drinking, bowling and sleeping can't be all that bad.

My best friend and I, close since Ensign escapades of the finest kind at our first duty station at NAVSTA Rota, Spain, have decided we would vote for a woman for President this year. We are contemplating writing each other's names in. ;)

You reminded me of something. One night in November I came home from work, had dinner, then prepared to leave the house. My son asked me where I was going. I was going to vote for President. Who are you voting for, he asked. I don't know - who should I vote for. He responded with great emphasis "Vote for Me!" He was five years old.

Right now, he's leading his platoon on a dusty 10 mile ruck march.

I'd vote for you. To be honest, I'd vote for satan over either of these two; but I'd vote for you Capt even if we had legitimate candidates.
