Well, someone was going to have to make it. Haha.

Once it comes and goes, post your thoughts, results, anything you feel is necessary.

I am also having trouble logging on to check my status. That's fine with me, I'm tired of viewing "please contact.....blah blah".

I cant connect to the website either.

Then again, the Jan. board is done, and the next and final board isn't for another 3 days, so there really is no reason to check yet, haha.

So, you all are ready to do this? Have feeling this board will be the craziest yet. Went back and read some paperwork DS received early on in the application process-technically they do not have to inform us until May 30(later if openings/special circumstances occur). So buckle up, it could be 3 months this time:eek:

    Take care.

    Last Day of School

Last day of school for DS is 5/13; am hoping if there is a letter, it comes by then. Would this be too much for a parent to ask?

DS's senior awards banquet is like, May 26th, I'm hoping we know before they print the programs. His last day isn't until 6/1(graduates 6/5). Never entered my mind we would have no answer by then. I wish CC would do for our applicants like the AF/Navy, if you really aren't competitive, give us a ding so we can move on:thumb:

Having spoke to the ROO's at two large State schools over the last couple of weeks my advice to anyone really wanting a ROTC scholarship and military career would be don't sweat the board results.

Get yourself into the school you want to go to, and can afford of course. Then arrive on campus ready willing and able to participate in the ROTC. From the discussion I had if you are good enough and enthusiastic enough you will get the scholarship in school.

My son's school had six 4 year in-schools awarded in the first couple of weeks of fall semester. They had several other in-school scholarships to offer as a result of others failing the PFT. Some of them were awarded as 4-year scholarships, and others were 3.5 years.

The board is only the first hurdle in a very long steeplechase. With a positive attitude you can afford to trip up now and still win the race.

    Good luck all!

    my sentiments exactly...

Very well stated FloridaDad! My son is very committed to AROTC and is Norwich bound regardless! We are obviously hoping for favorable results, but I'm sooo proud of his commitment to serve, with or without a scholarship!

Totally the right attitude!!! That is precisely what I did when I reported to Norwich. Everything has a funny way of working out in the end (the stress of it all is kinda annoying, though).

So . . . are the results out for the March 8 board yet?

In support of what FloridaDad said, my cousin originally had an NROTC scholarship but dropped it and went to AROTC instead. He was given a scholarship before fall term was up.

DS has made his decision too..if he gets a scholarship great, but we are sending in the student loan paperwork anyway to his first pick. He received some academic scholarships that help but it won't be cheap. Either way his heart is to serve. We all are very fortunate that we have kids who choose to serve rather than party. We win and they will too in the end:thumb:
