March 8th, 2011 AROTC Board

This waiting game has been really rough this time

Hope they send something out to the rest of us soon!

Anyone know the timing of resuming staus updates and how long the rest of the process will take? Just trying to plan how long happy hour should be tonight. LOL

At this point, all I want is a confirmed answer. Be it positive or negative, I'll still be doing ROTC. I just want to know so the anxiety will go away. Good luck to the rest of us still waiting.

Plan for a weekend long happy hour. No idea when or if they will resume posting today. They took 2-3days to post all of them January board, who knows what is in store for us:wink:

:beer1: Happy hour begins in Ohioland at 5pm.

So with you and this one. DS is stressed, I'm stressed...just need this to be over and proceed as indicated. Hope you get the good status change soon too!!

I registered after reading here for a while because I need some people in the same boat as I am to commiserate with!

DS#1 waiting for a status change - STEM candidate, etc etc, He is driving me and his siblings nuts! We have the optical appointment today and then the physical next week. Ugh!

We are loosing hope though in MD - it seems as though most(????) have had a status change, and to top it all off our ROO at our #1 school is no longer there at the cadre, so we have no idea who to hope for a call from!

Welcome!! Yep, we are the boat load of "misfit" parents/applicants still waiting news from CC, always room for one more:biggrin: Don't lose faith yet, as you've read, Clarkson will let us know when the updates are completed(the day the letters are mailed). Hope you have something to distract you thru the weekend, have a feeling its gonna be a LONG one.

If you'd like to share DS's schools, major etc... we're always curious about the young men and women participating in this process, and it gives us a chance to brag on our kiddos a little...

DS#1 - Schools are McDaniel, Salisbury, and Coastal Carloina and he is majoring in Abstract Algebra with a concentration in Statistics. 4 year football player, and did better than I had hoped for on the SATs.

I have two other sons (and then a daughter) my other sons are going to try for Army Linguist, and a Marine.

First child off to college is hard under the best of circumstances, you sure got a less than best cirucmstances for your first! I have one in college(DD)so I at least got the first timer experience under a more normal experience. Has your DS been accepted to all schools? I'm not familar with his schools, are they all in state, private, out of state(OOS)? With a major in Abstract Algebra, he's got my respect, numbers and letters should NEVER mix in my opinion:biggrin:. Glad he has a well rounded application!!

We are also in MD; DS' 1st choice school is Univ of South Carolina, so if all of the stars line up right they could be in the same battalion if your DS attends Coastal. BUT, my guess is that IF my DS is awarded a scholarship, it will be to either Univ of MD or Loyola.

That made me laugh because our DS is in Al II right now, and all I keep thinking about when I try to help him with his hw is the teachers def. lied to us!

Remember someone would always ask why do I have to learn this anyway ---we will never use it in our life, and they would say because you will use it in your life everyday.

Guess what I have not remembered any of my AL II lessons, and I am pretty sure I never use it in my daily life. :shake:

The last time I used FOIL was when I was helping my kids in their Math class, same with SAS and SSS theorems...I leave Physics to Bullet, because honestly I don't care about gravity, wake me if the ball does not drop when you let it go. Bullet of course did use Physics his entire career...something to do with flying planes and wanting them to stay in the air for some silly reason.

Back on topic.

My first choice is Coastal because of their math dept
DS#1 has been accepted at all his schools, but we wait for this scholarship or he will be going to community college.

INTP here married to an INTJ with NF grandparents. DS is an SJ which is why I think he's an excellent candidate: once committed will die for the cause.

Well i am married to an INFJ and then I went on to have two INFJ sons, one ENFJ son, and a daughter who is too young to tell yet LOL!!

DH is a psych undergrad, business grad school guy so the boys are just too much like each other in this house!!!!!!!!!

going back OFF Topic...The only math I do well involves $$$ signs, still amazed that my kiddos 1 & 2 take stuff like Calc and physics:biggrin: We needed 2 math credit to graduate highschool in Ohio in 1985, geometry was the only thing that made sense to me. Suffered thru Alg. I for the other credit.

Back on topic(maybe...:shake:)

Yes, but you can all

Cry on each other's shoulders and the empathy in your household should be amazing! Unlike this mom who just wants to stick with the facts. No blood, no band aid.

okay ladies, what is the code? We need a distraction - since it doesn't appear results are posting so far today:mad:

The only down side to all the INFJ's is the insane need of them all to be TOP DOG all the time. But then maybe I should have thought about that before I had three boys in a row?? Oh well...hindsight

I think I need to re paint the whole house this weekend so that I can stop checking the status update!!!!!!!!

Myers Briggs Spectrum

okay ladies, what is the code? We need a distraction - since it doesn't appear results are posting so far today:mad:

Looks at personality through 4 spectra:
Introversion-Extroversion Scale
Sensing-Intuition Scale
Thinking-Feeling Scale
Judging-Perceiving Scale

INFJ = Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging

Google Myers Briggs and you will find a test. Quite frankly when we took this test and did some reading about the results it changed our lives. Made so much more of the world make sense.
