ahhhh, getting closer to W!!!

I wrote out the alphabet, s is the first letter of the grouping that should include w. our E is included with the group abc.., ghi - l is a group and then, m-r. Unless they don't give each of the 4 people an in order grouping of letter.

@Ohio2015Parent, Niko'smom

Thanks for the info, I'll keep checking!

Just got a call at 11, and my friend got the scholarship!! His last name starts with B..:shake:

Thanks, everyone, for your support and congrats! Just found out that he was awarded 4 year scholarship to his number #1 school choice, so he will be going to Univ of South Carolina (I agree with Pima - a GAMECOCK?!), so our waiting is over...no requesting a transfer for us. YAHOO! It's party time! PLUS, it's after noon here on the east coast, so I don't have to drink in the morning! :shake:

Toss a shot for me!! I've gotta go to work @ 1 today, may call and ask to come in a little later since nothing is time sensitive today in there. So glad you won't have to play the transfer game with CC. GREAT GREAT NEWS!!

Today is the day my daughter should find out if the budget will allow her to keep her teaching job so I'm nail biting along with you.

Let it be a good day all around. OT, but my DD who's in school still learning to be a teacher had her first time in front of a classroom yesterday. The teacher she's been observing(6th grade math) let her take the class for about half an hour. She called me so fired up!!!

well we are headed out for the optical exam for DODMERB. Maybe we will come home to good news.

Good luck to your daughter - I hope it all works out for her...Lord knows we need all the teachers we can get!

OK, so set back #1 has just come...ROO that originally told us the scholarship was for 4 years called back to tell me she mis-read it, it's only a 3 year...and that pretty much, if not all of them, from this last board will be 3 year offers. What has anyone else found out about the length of their scholarship? Must admit, kind of a let down after being so high...

Oh, and BTW, today is April 15th. Today's the day I chose in the pool!

Does a 3 year make it a "non option"? I'd heard a lot of offers would be 3 year AD - meaning you have to meet a 3.0 in MS classes and still be recommended by your PMS at the end of first year. Take a deep breath, it is still an amazing opportunity for your DS, but I'm sure the let down was like a punch in the gut. Glad they notified you there was a mistake on their part so quickly.

Hey, a good day for you all the way around! 4/14-4/15 and I have a feeling 4/18 also may all be winners!!!

I don't know the details of the 3 year - we will be meeting with the ROO at South Carolina next Tuesday when DS is on spring break so I am sure we will find out more then...and yes, it's an amazing opportunity. He was planning to go and join ROTC even if he did not get a scholarship, so even 3 years is a blessing. It just took a little bit of wind out of our sails. Still much to be thankful for!

Does anyone know how many are handed out for March board???

2010...2,579 AROTC Scholarships
(press release said 2,579 four yr scholarships, no mention of other flavors)

2011
1st Board was about 400 offered scholarships
(about 23 on this board reported offers)

2nd Board was about 800 offered scholarships
(about 30 on this board reported offers)

3rd Board...I'm guessing 1000-1200 offered scholarships
(9 offers posted on the board so far?)
