March 8th, 2011 AROTC Board

Ditto..we are WA. Still waiting in Kansas :frown: Definately counting down until happy hour - that at least provides a distraction from checking the site.:beer1:

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Ksmom. Happy hour begins for me in an hour and 15 minutes! Definitely tired of rechecking with no results!:beer1:

I would like to thank everyone that has posted on here Re AROTC, you have been a great help into the inner workings of CC. My son’s page changed about the time he was having his medical (11:00ish EST) so it was a nice surprise when we returned home to find he had been awarded a Scholarship, length unknown. Being a B he was one of the first, but I hope many more will have the same good news by the end of today.
You have been offered an Army ROTC Scholarship. We must receive your acceptance/declination by the date in your letter or the offer will be withdrawn. Your name will be sent to DODMERB the day your winner letter is printed. There will be about 72 workweek hours prior to being able to see your name in the DODMERB system.
You may check your medical qualification status by visiting the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board DoDMERB WebSite

VB DAD - did your son too receive the DoDMERB packet this past Monday, dated April 8th? Just curious. Trying to see if all applicants in that boat going forward are winners! Just another attribute to drive me crazy while we wait!

Last name starts with 'HE'. His status changed. I don't know if it means 3 or 4 year but at least it is something.

LETS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATS!!! to all who have received scholarships!!!

Waiting in Colorado...trying to be patient. SO HARD!!! DS got his DoDMERB packet this past Monday, we thought that was a good sign and are holding on to that thought. I have to say these past 2 days have been so long already. I have not been very efficient in the office to say the least.

What are the first two letters of last name? We are all kind of tracking now.

They are working on the C's

I have not yet recieved a DoDMERB letter, is that a bad thing? Im on pins and needles like everyone else on this thread about the scholarship notifications!

I really hope they aren't doing the notifications by alphabet because my last name starts with a C and its almost been a day already! nervous!

Also, congrats to all who have recieved scholarships already!

Another scholarship for a C name in the last hour, hang in there.

Nursing Scholarships

Congratulations to all that have received scholarships. Of those who received the great news, are any of you Nursing Corp Scholarships?:help:

Alphabet Breakdown

This is what OhioParent posted earlier just to refresh memories.

He calculated that the 4 groups are broken down to:
A-F
G-L
M-R
S-Z

Us being Wa is still a long way away I would imagine!

We are Mo..no word yet...don't think I can take it anymore! Just got back from the liquor store.

I sure hope that there are alot of G's and they just haven't gotten to us yet. Not sure what to think.

Hi all, Yes my son did get a letter from DODMERB's Monday and had his Eye and Medical today, hope that helps.

Another scholarship for a C name in the last hour, hang in there.

Well, it's looking like today may not be the day for 'E' then. They have been working for two days and gotten through 2-3 letters. I suppose it's better than having 'F' postings yet. Does anyone know if CC works weekends? It seemed as though they did with the Jan results.

Good luck to everyone whose letter is approaching! And again, biggest virtual high five for the announced recipients.

Hi everyone! This is the first time I have ever posted on the board, although I have found myself reading it a whole lot lately! This whole process has been terribly difficult in aspect to "hurry up and waiting". It has, also, been very difficult due to our family doing it on our own without much help or advice from an ROO. As a matter of fact, when I called to speak with him to tell him that my son had received a DoDMERB packet in the mail on the 8th, he told me that everyone gets those and it wasn't a sign at all. I mean, come on, at least tell me that it isn't a bad sign!!

Anyway, I hate to complain, especially since this is my first post, but I had to just get it out and not balled up inside while we anxiously await these results. The gentleman who has been "assisting" us basically told us that we were too late in getting the packet in and that we should just go ahead and jump into the program and hope a 3 yr came along. That was in December, and I realize that was late but decisions can take time and events happen. My DS has received full scholarships to a couple of different schools but we want our options open and this ROO hasn't been positive at all. Going as far as saying that "he would put money on it" that my DS didn't get a scholarship. Talk about being a mentor!!

This post is kind of long, so I apologize, but I just had to tell "someone" who would understand what was going on. Without the ROTC scholarship, my son has decided to still go for the program because the scholarship is not the only reason he wanted to become an Army officer; it's more of a family legacy.

Good luck to everyone! Hopefully, I can post a big ole smiley face on here in the next few hours. Congratulations to those that have already made it and to those I am positive will~~
