March 8th, 2011 AROTC Board

They have worked on Saturdays before, so keep checking tomorrow just in case. Last year my son's status changed around 10:45 am on a Saturday morning.
 
So a letter should be coming in the mail soon letting me know what the specifics of the award is right? Is there any other way to check?
 
If memory serves correct I haven't heard from anyone but C's today either. Any C's and above get good news up to the H's?
 
Seriously.... I do not recall anyone in the last half of the alphabet getting status change... Show me da W's!!:help:

Just got home to find that DS received an AROTC scholarship! :smile: Just about wet my pants.

We're in TX, last name Cr...and he was before the 2nd and 3rd boards.

We haven't heard from any of the schools, though. We have no idea which school. Is that unusual to not be contacted and given the news?

Congrats to everybody who's gotten the good news, and best wishes to everybody waiting!

I seriously hope we don't have to wait until Monday or later. I WILL need detox and a week's worth of sleeping it off at this rate!! Hearing about all that have received the DoDMERB packets last Monday is giving me still hope though!!

My DD found out yesterday around 1:30p. Her last name is Ge. Based on that and the other posts I've read, I'm not sure they are posting in alpha order.

Although no one in our family is from South Carolina, my husband graduated from USC back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. He is a diehard fan, however I have also always had trouble with the Gamecocks name! We were at the USC bookstore a few weeks ago (because my son has also been accepted there, but is still undecided), and there were t-shirts that said "Go Cocks!" I just couldn't see my son or husband wearing one of those around town where we live. Luckily, the store also had really nice logo shirts with palm trees (and no ugly red bird) on them that just said "University of South Carolina." That is what we bought!

I am really praying that Ohio2015Parent gets good news. You are very dedicated and patient. Your family deserves to celebrate with the others who have already gotten scholarships.

Thank you for the kind words. It was difficult at work to stay focused on the task at hand - luckily they had me doing stock replenishing and not front of store customer service. Bath & Body take customer service seriously and today I wouldn't have been able to be quite so pleasant to my ladies:wink:

It will be quiet night here in Ohioland, I doubt that additional status changes will be posted until Monday. With the budget issues in front of them, I doubt overtime will be authorized for data input at CC.

The alphabet groupings seem to be holding, but I agree, very few S-Z and nothing in the D-F have reported here on the thread, saw the G and of course Cs, H, M...it will be what it will be. If there is no order, there is no order, not our call.

Be kind to yourself and each other while you wait, it is so easy take our frustrations out on others(or ourselves) when everything is so stressful.

Son looked for the 1st time last night around 11pm. Saw the "you have been offered an ROTC Scholarship". We are "R" and from Ky. He had recieved DoDMERB paperwork on Monday. (His interview was in mid-February and so the March Board was the only one he was exposed to.) He had been accepted into the Engineering School (of the one school he had applied to)in November so he also applied only with that school's Army ROTC Program in February.
He HAS NOT however received written confirmation from the Army by mail as of 5pm today 4/15/2011, Friday. Has anyone else out there received DoDMERB, and an internet "YES" from the ROTC Scholarship Application Status System, yet no Army letter?
In any case good luck to all applicants/family's that have applied. :thumb:
 
My DS completed, submitted, and had his interview just prior to the December boards. Last Monday was the first we had any movement with receiving the DoDMERB packet.
 
My gut feeling is that they are NOT going alphabetically. I think if you received that DoDMerb packet this past week then you all should be receiving some good news in the near future.

Just my opinion. Keeping fingers crossed for all of you. Prayers included.:thumb:

It's not alphabetical, guys. My last name starts with a W.

For those who weren't around earlier...this was like 8-9 hours ago, the idea of alphabet order came from this post. We broke down the alphabet into 4 segments - A-F, G-L, M-R, S-Z on our best guess. CC may divide them differently(some letter having more last names). So, if the pattern is there so be it. Also, some have been 4 year, some 3yr, maybe the stacks are also divided by that? Does it really matter? Clarkson will let us know when the letters are set to be mailed - until then, even a Sunday night status change is not unheard of, not the norm, but not unheard of....
