Hey all,
I started AROTC this fall, and was disqualified for Tourette Syndrome and OCD in September. I submitted my waiver package (consisting of a letter from a retired Navy neurologist saying I do not have TS, and a letter from a retired Army psychiatrist saying I do not have OCD) on September 30th through the AROTC department. It is midway through february now and I have not heard back. The LTC here said that cadet command sent my information to a neurologist to make a decision, but they told him the same thing in december.
I am a junior in college right now, and I need to start making plans for my future (i.e. summer internship versus 4 week LDAC training). This program is extremely time intensive, especially with the leadership roles I am in (PSG, SL), and it is becoming difficult to balance my engineering coursework with ROTC given that they have made no commitment to me yet.
I was wondering if the length of this process is typical, and if there is anything I can do to speed it up? I already told the LTC that I cannot continue the program once this semester is over.
Thanks!
