Lest parents be worried, even though NAPSters sign a two-year enlistment, they are free to leave NAPS at any time and/or not continue onto USNA without having to serve out the full two years.
So, your child is not enlisting in the traditional sense. Being enlisted allows him to be paid, to earn a SecNav nom, etc. Yes, he is in the military but he is also free to leave at any time with no strings attached.
BSEALS- My DS is in the exact situation. ROTC scholarship to Loyola. With his merit scholarship also, he has all of his expenses paid for. From all the info I have gathered, it will be a no brainer for him. NAPS all the way. From what I have heard going to NAPS is the closest guarantee to get into USNA. As long as you keep your grades up and keep clean your pretty much in. If you don't keep your grades up and keep clean , your out of your ROTC scholarship anyway.
