I applied on Feb. 1st and still have not heard back. Going into mid-April, are my chances declining as time goes by?

I live overseas (my dad's a GS) and I applied for the 3rd Session on the first day it was open. As I can see, a lot of people have already been accepted. Did you guys just receive a letter or did they also email? Just wanna know cuz I'm anxious to know. Also, does the fact that I haven't received a letter yet mean that I haven't been accepted or that my chance of being accepted are low?

The acceptance letter came by mail. Their were 2 sheets of paper with information inside the regular looking envelope. Don't give up hope, there is still a lot of time before they send more letters. Keep in mind that the deadline was April 1st. And todays date is the 10th. It is too early to say that you were rejected.

session 3

got my letter today! its dated the 31st of last month, but i was in Spain on a foreign exchange trip. Anyone in session 3 feel free to message me. I'm from Toledo OH by the way.

OH BOY! I suggest you get your forms and payment in...NOW! :shake:

Congratulations! :thumb:

Has anyone gotten their confirmation letter yet? I paid the $350 and sent my acceptance stuff in a couple weeks ago. I'm starting to get worried that they didn't get my forms...

I have not received my confirmation letter yet. And up until last week at least, it still says I owe $350 on the payment site. I just checked it right now to see if it still says that and it's saying "Your information does not match our records".

I'm positive I entered my info correctly, does that mean my payment has been processed then?

Yeah, It's saying the same thing for me (I also paid and entered my info correctly). Either there is something wrong with the site or that is just what happens after you already payed. I'll try to email them tonight or call tomorrow.

I don't think it's much to worry about. As long as you have your payment receipt, turned in your forms postmarked whenever, you should be fine. They are really busy up there!

We paid, and mailed everything in three weeks ago. No confirmation yet.

To everyone going to NASS:

Make sure you guys show up in shape and can run at least 3.5 miles nonstop. NASS is used as a program to sell you the Naval Academy, don't think USNA is like NASS at all. However, they do make sure you emphasize to you the physical stamina/endurance requirements that USNA holds. You guys take the CFA which consists of pull-ups, push-ups, basketball throw, sit-ups, standing broad jump, a mile run, and a shuttle run. USNA does not really put too much of an emphasis on the SBJ, basketball throw, or shuttle run, but make sure you can still pass these parts of the test, but make sure your workout focuses on pullups, pushups, situps, and the run. You guys will also take the PFT which is pushups, situps, and a 1.5 mile run.

Above Average Pull-up Score: Males= 9 pullups, Girls= Max out FAH or do 1 pullup
" " Push ups Score: Males: 65; Girls: 45
" " Run: Both Males and Females= under 7:00
" " Sit-Ups: Males and Females: 80+

Running: If you're feeling adventurous, train for a 10K. The rest of you guys, be able to at least do a 5K run. Go to your local running store and make sure you get a good pair of running shoes that fit the way you walk/run. DON'T just go to Sport's Authority and get a good looking pair, if so, you may be in danger of getting shin splints/stress fracture/runner's knee.

Pullups and Pushups: Armstrong Pullup Program
Note: You WILL suffer muscle tear down doing this workout. For example, in the third week, I started maxing out at 50 push-ups, when my normal max is 90+ It is normal and to be expected.

Sit-ups: THIS

It's ok, most of you guys will probably still slack off ...you're gonna regret it, but it's the truth. Good luck
