Naval Academy Summer Seminar 2009

I am wondering if anyone from Maryland has been accepted to the summer seminar 2009
 
Still in limbo here. The mail has already came today and no news either way. I was wondering if I should call? It seems a rejection letter is almost sure to come but I would still like to know soon so I can make other plans.
 
call, it can't hurt plus it beats waiting for the mail every day until something comes
 
I haven't received my rejection letter/email either. Hmm...

Oh and today at my school we had a college fair and there were about 265 schools including the Naval Academy so naturally, I went over and talked to the guy at the booth. He said that at least 5 people came up to him today and said that they were rejected by NASS (all living in IL). He said that there were sooo many more applications than last year and that it was based on geographic region or something, which is pretty much what everyone's been saying, including when I called admissions at the academy when I found out I didn't get in.
What I find strange though is that admissions at the academy when I called them last weekend said that about only 1/3 of those who attend NASS get into the academy for their class. The guy at the booth for the academy at my college fair (he was in uniform) said that they don't even look at whether or not you got into NASS so they wouldn't know how many of those people get in because it doesn't matter.
 
We do get a short eval from our squad leaders at NASS we were actually pulled out individually and had a conference with them and that is attached to your application also if you go to CVW that is attached as well but it is just like another character eval- but doesn't pull tons of weight.
 
Accepted...

I just got my acceptance letter on the 13th of April. AND I'm going to the first session for Navy and the second for West Point:frown:. Anybody else in those shoes?
 
I got an email today telling me that I get wait-listed...even more waiting to be done now...I guess I still need to have my fingers crossed...
 
I also received an email today saying I've been wait listed for my session preferences of two and three. No one knows the chance of getting in of the wait list do they?

I got accepted to the Military Academie's SLS, and even though I rather attend NASS, I'll probably sign up for the second session of SLS rather than take a gamble on getting into NASS and change my session preference to just the third session.
 
Wait List

Ok so now I too have been wait listed... I found out today when I called and I do not know whether to be bummed or not?? Does anyone know what the probability of getting in from the wait list is when I am from SoCal?
 
i just recieved my email telling me that ive been waitlisted. anyone from northern california also waitlisted?

Applied for the seminar in mid march and still have not recieved ANYTHING. Checked mail and email today. You will atleast here back whether your accepted or denied right? just seems late to not hear anything
 
NASS application

On the web site it states that your NASS application is your preliminary application. My question is when are you able to access your application to add anything new.

You will receive a candidate number and log in information in May (I believe that's when I received mine) and it will allow you to access your application. Good luck!
 
I just received an email that I am wait listed for NASS. I am also told that they have opened a file for me as a Candidate and offered a Candidate visit at end of Apr. Can someone enlightened me on the information above?
 
I was accepted like 10 days ago to Session 3, and I'm pretty pumped.

I still haven't recieved anything at all either way. I applied the day it opened. Should I call admissions or just keep waiting. I'm already going to USAFA SS and USMA SLS so I'm still pumped that I'll be able to go to those.
