Hi, Marciemi! I expect that my DS is eyeballing the same types of schools as your DS (my DS has applied to Harvard, Northwestern, Stanford, etc.).
Just wondering what your son heard back from NW today? After the excitement of the MIT acceptance last week, it was a bit depressing for my son to get waitlisted today by NW. He was gambling that USAFA would be his only rejection, but guess we can (at least somewhat) add this one to the list. Since it falls on his choices well below MIT, USNA and Michigan (all of which he has acceptances to), the sting probably wasn't as sharp as it could have been!
I'm almost out of gas...
DS got dinged from Northwestern today. He's off to PT, preparing for Beast Barracks.
hopeful_mom, we're all running low on fuel. The important thing for us parents is to keep SMILING!!
Agreed. Actually, I may just be coming down to a normal level of anticipation. DS thinks I've been a wee bit high strung throughout this whole process. He could be right. Now, I'm sort of just matching his "what ever happens happens" attitude. He is right in that it's out of his hands now and never was in mine!
Good for him! Is he seriously planning on WP, or is he waiting to see what all pans out with his NROTC/civilian options? Where do you think WP falls on the list?
I just got into my top choice NROTC school...but I'm a tier 3 major so I am not really hinging anything on it.
Any tier 3's get NROTC scholarships yet?

Oh and a sidenote- I was dinged by Northwestern too. I'm ok with it though, I honestly only really liked the school because it was next to Chicago and it was in the B10.
...and now he's been accepted to Georgetown's Walsh School of Foreign Service, and been offered a full ride at Fordham. He was one of only 30 students selected for the dual-degree international program at Columbia -- still not a peep from the Navy. Do they really feel that strongly that engineers make the best officers?

DS' NROTC status changed for the first time since September today - "we're sorry...."
